Are you negative or critical of the United States of America? Explain why please.
Wandering the information superhighway, he came upon the last refuge of civilization, PoFo, the only forum on the internet ...
Moral discourse which is based around events, dilemmas or relationships in which the participants in the discourse are not participants in a relevant common project, is meaningless. What should the French government do about the hijab? What position should a socialist take in Iraq today? How can there be sensible answers to these questions for someone who is not French or not in Iraq?
XogGyux wrote:Other. Negative? Not really, I believe the US is well above average/median in terms of countries when it comes to balancing between social issues, freedom, economics, etc. The kind of things we associate with "being good".
Critical, yes for sure. But critical does not mean "i don't like this". I am critical of my mother, my brother, my friends, myself. To be honest in an imperfect system you must be critical.

Rancid wrote:One could argue the hyper-individualism is actually waning in the US though. At no other time prior in the history of America could I say "I think UBI or socialized health might be a good idea" and not fear the government for saying it.

I picked my options the way I did because I'm asking for some fairly straightforward answers on the initial vote-to get people committed and thinking about your answers. Whatever you answer though, is important to me.
Personally, I feel like my thoughts and those of average Americans have diverged quite a bit, but for all that I know that I cannot of course change the course America is going on anyway, whether it's for the good or for bad.
I also know this; Americans by and large could care less what Non-Americans think in any case, and even don't really care much what other Americans think either.
Political Interest wrote:No issues with normal Americans or their traditional way of life but dislike the current sociological and ideological trends emerging there, especially the hyper-individualism.

America is a degenerate, arrogant, war mongering, hubris, shithole country.
Americans are probably the most propogandized people in the world.
It comes from the Hollywood films, the Fox News, the CNN, the NPR, the shitty TV shows, etc.
Americans are trained to utterly lack empathy.
But, they are trained in the way of gratuitous sympathy.
When bad shit happens in other places, Americans are trained to shed crocodile tears.
Like when Covid broke out bad in Italy, and Americans shed many crocodile tears.
If bad shit happens in the US, Americans are trained to brush it off, and not really give a shit.
America is a shithole country, degenerate, and with few redeeming qualities.
I am practically tripping over homeless people sleeping on the sidewalk every time I go to the supermarket to spend my foodstamps, and buy overpriced beer and cigarettes.
And, I am a rung or too from joining their ranks, I am basically homeless already, squatting on borrowed land in a junk RV, and unemployed for a bit (and with few benefits).
America, with it's massive gulag, tries to lecture other countries about righteousness.
America is the true shithole country.
