I’ve always said that commies make the best capitalists. After all, to understand communism, you first have to understand capitalism. It’s no accident that Marx called his magnum opus ‘Capital’ and not ‘Communism’.

Having said that, China is defeating the West at being good at expanding its forces of production. They first tried to do this using half-baked autarchist ideas (which they called ‘communism’), before doing it using capitalism (which Marx had recommended even in the opening pages of the Communist Manifesto). China will use whatever method works, and then discard it once it has done its job.

Indeed. According to their own words, by 2049 China aims for “building a modern socialist country that is prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally advanced and harmonious”.

To do that, they incorporated capitalism into their system.

Even worse, China is now starting to face competition in what allowed it to grow so much these last few years i.e. as a producer of cheap industrial goods. Many businesses are trying to relocate their factories in other countries, in part, because there are viable competitors.
