I think the Pax Americana will end. We see a WW3 slowly unfolding 1st Ukraine, now Israel, in future Taiwan and South-Korea..

The East is not ready to accept a hegemonial superpower like the American.

The West has not the ressources to win a war against 3 civilizations

Other: Those who do not participate in it. Because they would be the next super power afterwards. Considering you are implying USA/China war then Europe will probably win then as things stand.

It is entirely economic in nature.

The Chinese have already won it

The west will figure that out in a few decades.

Huh?

The Chinese weren't even communist in 1945. Current Chinese economic policy is also from 1979...

Sure.

This corroborates my previous point anyway.

After all, China is defeating the west at being good at capitalism.

I’ve always said that commies make the best capitalists. After all, to understand communism, you first have to understand capitalism. It’s no accident that Marx called his magnum opus ‘Capital’ and not ‘Communism’.

Having said that, China is defeating the West at being good at expanding its forces of production. They first tried to do this using half-baked autarchist ideas (which they called ‘communism’), before doing it using capitalism (which Marx had recommended even in the opening pages of the Communist Manifesto). China will use whatever method works, and then discard it once it has done its job.

@Potemkin :

I think that you recognize in them what you have in yourself.

It is on a per capita basis.

Yeah, sure, China also has the second largest population in the world... It SHOULD be the second largest economy in the world.

@Sandzak

I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

Other.

There will not be a WW3.

People who say China's economy is suffering are buying Western propaganda.

Moody's Analytics has also raised its 2023 growth projection to 5% from 4.9%. Industrial output in September grew a stronger than expected 4.5% from a year earlier, but the pace was unchanged from August, according to the separate data. Analysts had expected a 4.3% increase.

Again, what do you mean by “poorer”?

And how does that contradict my piint?

China's poorer on a GDP per capita basis.

How doesn't it? The failure to match living standards in the US and Western Europe helped bring the USSR down.

Indeed. According to their own words, by 2049 China aims for “building a modern socialist country that is prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally advanced and harmonious”.

To do that, they incorporated capitalism into their system.

Than who?

Are you arguing that the standard of living in China is so abysmal for so many that there will be a radical economic revolution in the foreseeable future, and that this can be logically predicted by the difference in living standards to which you vaguely alluded?

The US, Canada, Japan, South Korea, the European Union, Australia, New Zealand...

I'm arguing that many Chinese can compare their living standards with those prevailing in the West, and they won't be happy if their economy stagnates. If that happens, China will also not serve as a model to follow for many other countries.

Even worse, China is now starting to face competition in what allowed it to grow so much these last few years i.e. as a producer of cheap industrial goods. Many businesses are trying to relocate their factories in other countries, in part, because there are viable competitors.

So, it is as rich as most developed countries in terms of GDP per capita, but us not in the top ten or so?

How does this contradict my claim?
