That idea that gender has no essential meaning and is wholly socially constructed is way more radical than simply changing social norms around gender roles.

The humans who consider themselves "elite" are always the first ones to embrace any kind of technology that will destabilize other humans. Re-defining gender, morality, nationality, individuality, community, etc... every generation, ensures that the elite are the only ones who know any kind of stability.

Everyone else feels inadequate and backwards - like they're intended to feel.

When you feel like crap, it's easy to pay you five bucks an hour to wipe other people's asses for them.

Humans evolved in tribes. At the onset a non-tribe member was considered an outsides or dangerous. Tribalism is the mother of race ID politics.
Race ID politics by the POC has promoted race ID politics among those of European descent and a lot of division.

Tribalism isn't "the mother," it's "the model."

The model for Kraft macaroni cheese powder is... "cheese."

The model for Tang orange crystals is... "orange juice."

The model for Facebook is... a social life.

So while there was something called "tribes" (or groups of adults travelling together), the invention of identity politics is only "based on a true story" but with most of the nutrition removed.

Yes it has. It's like an arms race now. Alt-right reacting to SJW's, SJW's reacting to the alt-right.

I think the crux of it all though is the demographic changes. Some white people feel threatened existentially by the demographic trends showing they'll become a minority in every western country within the next 3-4 decades. And young people, who do the vast majority of protesting, are probably already majority non-white, and they're making their voices heard on social media etc., and white people be tripping.

I found it interesting that MLB ran this commercial repeatedly during the playoffs last year, clearly trying to look "hip" and appeal to the younger more diverse "urban" demographic, more along the lines of an NBA commercial. Attendance has dropped in recent years pre-COVID. In my city the only sports getting more popular are soccer, basketball, and cricket, which makes sense.

Well, yes, this is how socialists and fascists operate. And, as you are a socialist and a fascist, your whining about your own modus operendi false on deaf ears.

Dishonesty is all you have to offer.

In commercial media, there is no meaningful discussion of solutions for poverty. Instead, the media points at scapegoats (ie. "the problem is people like them") and this never leads to meaninful changes in power relations.

Well, no. The people in power, all who think like you, discuss no meaningful solutions for poverty or ANY problem. This is a reflection on you though.

In each case, the targeted *victim-nation-prey* thought: "And then they came for me, and this time I WAS the witch that commercial mafia-media regularly sicks its viewers on."

Community colleges that I have either seen their catalogs of classes very very rarely ever even offered what I remember taking like Western Civilization I, II, Humanities I, II, foundational histories of the world, etc etc. It is not happening in many places. It is increasingly how good one is in computer programming, software development and innovation in marketing or something related to high finance. It is worrying.

I am so glad I went to a private school where they taught Roman History. Technically it was called "Latin class" and listed as a Language class, but in reality was about the Romans, their language and Roman history generally.

Hannibal - A valuable lesson in how not to "Choke" after being undefeated all season, the concept of Homeground Advantage, Fabian "Flooding the backline!" and how it can significantly affect the outcome of the final and most important game.

Spartacus - A valuable lesson in hating the establishment and authority

Julius Caesar - A valuable lesson in never trusting anyone not even your nephew.

Roman practice of the Greek Religion and replacement by Roman Christianity - A valuable lesson in how certain cultural groups going hard into the diaspora in 70AD basically slowly destroyed the Empire, and how the Empire's true general greatness relied on ripping off other Mediterranean cultural groups.

"Cancel Culture" happens on the left and right. It's just that the people on the right whine about it the most.

Trying to cancel 1984, Catcher in the Ryeand Harry Potter, to name a few...

Have people forgotten Kaepernick so soon? That was right-wing Cancel Culture.

Rightwingers are currently defending Harry Potter from being cancelled and burned by Trans rights activists, since they're the ones burning it and trying to get it cancelled now due to Rowling's opposition to them, as well as her rather mild personal Christian beliefs.

And they're the main people defending 1984 now too. For much the same reason, since the book tends to get attacked by the left-wing more these days.

Get with the times @Godstud, Christians started defending Rowling and her books as soon as she attacked Trans-rights activists and they started burning them now. Lol!

Kaepernick was raised and made a millionaire by the same people that canceled him. It was wrong by the NFL not to hire him, but he went on to become the poster boy for NIKE and made a ton. I never knew if he was truly canceled or whether he had lost skills. I liked the guy! But I though he was virtue signaling and Hating the very system that made him a very rich man.

There's another point. Kaepernick. Yeah. Kaepernick. Seems like a good guy. Said about his ideals when he was alone, not when it was safe and conform. The great dude Kaepernick. What a man. And the idiots who tried to hurt him for that are that: idiots, assholes and bigots. Kaepernick. Kaepernick. And that guy Kaepernick...

HE TOTALLY EQUALS IT! You see, we cancel thousands of people, everyday we gather into packs to hound the ones who deviate from The General Line Of The Party a bit, be it Dawkins or Rowling, or that hippy guy who wants free love and to eat feet calluses, we add crimes to our list everyday like 'being rude' or 'jaywalk' for which the punishment is to destroy your life, your marriage, your children, everyone you're related to, everything you're related to, fuck you up till you do the only thing that can satisfy our hunger and hate: slice your veins, go hang yourself, jump off the building, eat all of these pills. But it's totally fine, because we never did what you did with this poor guy Kaepernick, his blood will forever burn your hands, you daemonic spiderous hitleresque fiends! How dare you!

Actually, left-wingers apply this logic a lot, maybe even at each opportunity. In Russia there's a split between anti and pro-soviets, and what do they say? Oh, you know, the actions of the Soviet Government are totally justified, there was the white terror too. Yes, there was the white terror, thousands of victims, shot, hanged, plundered? and that is the absolute moral justification for people who introduced decimations to the XXth century, who were using gas weapons against peasants, whose economic politics was so good it lead to mass starvations and cannibalism, who built the machine of death that buried the millions. There's absolutely no difference at all! Kaepernick!

Yes, it's true that the invented crimes of techno-addicted socially-neurotic homo-urbanis... can lead to self cancellation.

And perhaps the fake rules we make for everyone in our societies are also leading to social collapse.

The "hunger and hate" of our elites are doubtlessly pushing the whole process along, as they harnass "hate" in order to get their dog-classes to hunt witches for them. The wealth that the dog classes "enjoy" afterwards, is just their share of the pillage.

I wonder how the anti-cancel culture crowd feels about this case at the AP this week.

Emily Wilder, a 23-year-old who just graduated from Stanford, got summarily fired this week for having been a member of a pro-Palestine activist group in college.

Leaving aside the utterly gutless behaviour of the AP, she was fired after a targeted harassment campaign by the Stanford College Republicans, the Federalist and Senator Tom Cotton.

Very cool how the cancel culture crowd will whine and whine and whine about some celebrity being mildly inconvenienced for actual hate speech, and then turn around and make a sustained effort to ruin some young kid's career before it has even started.

Interesting that AP fired her for criticizing Israel, since Isreal recently destroyed AP's office in Gaza.

In an article that mentions Hamas several times, AP wrote:Israel destroys AP office

...The AP has operated from the building for 15 years, including through three previous wars between Israel and Hamas, without being targeted directly. During those conflicts as well as the current one, the news agency’s cameras from its top floor office and roof terrace offered 24-hour live shots as militants’ rockets arched toward Israel and Israeli airstrikes hammered the city and its surroundings. ...

I guess AP approves of the targetting of its own office, as long as the long-term plan is to hurt Hamas and other groups on the Palestinian side. "Kill us! Cancel us! Destroy our ability to follow this story. We will understand why you are doing this," the neutral information supplier seems to be saying.

Precisely. It's one of the most pathetic things I've ever seen.

The alt right bastards at Stanford tied the two together, saying the fact that AP was "sharing an office with Hamas" and hiring an "anti-Israel agitator" (who, by the way, is an Orthodox Jew!) proved it was some sort of terrorist front organisation.

Amazingly, the AP appears to have taken this ridiculous smear campaign seriously, and thought that throwing this young reporter to the wolves would actually solve the issue. They're in for a rude awakening.
