It is a complicated subject actually. What is Russia gaining out of this deal? I can see what China is gaining and what China needs. It needs a wall to its North which it gets. Russia on the other hand is afraid of China to a degree and its claims to its far eastern territories. So there needs to be an economic insensitive for Russia to accept. If they accept it just to stick it to the "West" then this is a foolish move of becoming a Chinese bitch long term and perhaps even loosing territories.
