Gamblers are often on the look-out for a 'middle'. That's a situation in which the odds on something differ at two separate locations so that bets for the same amount at both will turn a profit no matter what happens.

And so it is with the current situation in Afghanistan in getting those Afghani citizens who helped our armed forces out of the country safely.

If President of the United Stets of America Joseph Biden manages to somehow speed things up big time and get lots of them away, the conservatives will note that the vetting is poor and the Taliban is probably sneaking operatives in under cover. Those operatives will do nasty [Ed.: and unspecified,] things to us. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

On the other hand, if there are real problems in getting those same people out, President Joseph Biden will be to blame for not moving more swiftly.

Either way, the Administration is shown to be incompetent.

A win-win for the conservatives.

A middle.
