The history of Rwanda includes massacres of Tutsis by Hutus. Some 800,000 people died. The bloodshed was caused by smoldering long-term hatreds and amplified, perhaps even triggered, by radio broadcasts.
History doesn't repeat itself, but there are often parallels to be found.
In the United States of America we have two 'tribes', the Reds and the Blues. Or, if you wish, Democrats and Republicans. Or Conservatives and liberals. No matter. Two tribes which are at odds with each other. The degree of this can be roughly judged by spending some time listening to, for example, AM talk radio.
The US differs from Rwanda in that what's said on the radio is often repeated on forums of the internet.
Thus the subject line above.
A simple question to start things off: Is this amplification dangerous to the well-being of the United States of America?
Regards, stay safe 'n well.
