late wrote:"In 2011, the new House Republican majority, egged on by Eric Cantor and Kevin McCarthy and led by radical Tea Party rightists such as Jason Chaffetz, brought the U.S. to the brink of a default. The disaster was headed off by a last-minute compromise between Speaker John Boehner, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and President Barack Obama. A breach of the debt ceiling, meaning the loss of the full faith and credit of the United States, would have been catastrophic. But Chaffetz and many of his colleagues were more than willing to make that happen. In the aftermath, Chaffetz said, “We weren’t kidding around. We would have taken it down.”
...This time there are more radicals in the Republican party. You can bet Trump will be egging them on. There aren't many Republicans left, if there are any at all, that have the backbone to defy Trump to save the economy. So we will default on the debt for no good reason...
"When it comes to the House, FiveThirtyEight has found that so far, at minimum 117 House Republicans with at least a 95 percent chance of winning are full-blown election deniers or questioners, a good leading indicator of radicalism and a willingness to ignore facts and embrace fantasy. In turn, they are willing, if not eager, to blow up institutions and government itself to accomplish their goals."

The main issue for me is basically? That both parties are incapable of making the changes necessary to get the agenda done. On the Democratic side, they got those two Democrats in Name Only who are really Right Wing Republican total sellouts, Sinema and Manchin, holding up things, and they water down the agenda terribly. You got moderate on-fence nailbiter democrats that SUCK. The socialist left in the Democratic party that in my opinion have the best remedies for the working people are held back by too many lousy middle-of-the-road liberals and moderate semi republican pro-corporation types who never do anything for the working people.
You then have nightmares of outright fascists and violent coup-type mentality people who just want to kill off the opposition and don't have any real policies but burning down all policies or programs that help out average people in the Republican party. They want war, civil war, lynchings and killings, and burnings, and all of them are extreme right people. They have taken over the small government, don't raise taxes boring ass conservative party with subtle racism in the currents there, but controlled. Now it is full-blown nasty racism, sexism, and classism, and totally sold out to the fortune 500 and the super wealthy agenda.
Again, if they don't come down hard on the fascist white power types that want a coup? And get rid of them soon? They will have a civil war in the USA. And if the fascists don't get stomped extremely hard? Politically and financially and legally? They will eventually not be so disorganized and they will rally back and pose a threat to any sort of political process that doesn't favor them. Saying elections are illegitimate and the results that are not for some Republican fascists are not valid. They will take over. We are not talking about small amounts of voters here. It is massive millions.
IMHO this was allowed to happen because the broken electoral college system was never fixed. The Filibuster in the senate was never fixed. You allowed Citizens United vs. The United States to stand and not be overturned. You allowed a bunch of right-wing extremely conservative court justices to be rammed into the SCOTUS by McConnell and the Obama choice was denied. No one did what was necessary. Not fighting hard enough.
The system is broken folks. You got legal bribes going on and many of these slimy politicians are making money through lobbyists, and through becoming paid consultants trading their insider knowledge or commercial trade bills being bandied about in their PAC groups. You got black budgets with donors to campaigns hiding like damn thieves in the night pumping money in to influence votes that are supposed to be about representing ordinary US citizens. Not some powerful banks, and corporations with worldwide control of hundreds of billions of dollars and trillions of combined funds. It is a recipe for killing democratic ways of dealing with political office and the purpose of government.
Now the fascist violent types will be a massive threat. To stability, economy, and everything else. They got a pattern of retrograde governance. It will be zero health clinics and rolling back civil rights for everyone, more wars and more spending on wars, more cuts to social security, and disability benefits, no child care for anyone without it being your own pocket, neglected public schools defunded, and only expensive private religious schools have given public school money like that Betsy De Voss woman wanted to happen. More student debt needs to be paid off because the banks that run the Republican party and fund it well will NEVER want some student debt forgiveness. if the Republican party gets in office they will want you to die if you can't pay a medical bill or a student loan bill, or if some rapist rapes you and you get pregnant by him, or if you are of African descent and you marry some white liberal woman in 1961 and have mixed children? The mongrel race. Outlaw it all. RETROGRADE dumbness will take over the USA.
MAWA will be the reality. What is MAWA? Make America White Again. And they don't realize that without the other groups present in the USA? Their economy tanks forever. Forever. But? Madness and stupidity are hallmarks of the racist element. They are kind of crazy in a deep sense. But if half the voters vote for crazy governance? And they continue to grow and are unopposed? That is what the USA is going to get.
