Shiba Daijingu Shrine was established in Tokyo about 1000 years ago.

The Japanese imperial clan already planned a future capital relocation from Kyoto to Tokyo.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel remained seated for national anthems at an official ceremony Tuesday for the second time in a week, after a series of shaking spells sparked concern about her health. I suspect Merkel was having a seizure, which happened to me in one hot summer in Australia. Indigenous Australians ritually cursed the then Australian Prime Minister, John Howard, by pointing a bone at him (Kurdaitcha). The practice is still common enough that hospitals and nursing staff are trained to manage illness caused by "bad spirits" and bone pointing.
