I think that the wariness of many scientists to pursue geoengineering may lead to capitalists pursuing it without the same concerns over what methods should be experimented with etc. I'm currently not sure whether this will pan out or be preferable to not tinkering with the climate, but surely it will happen if we continue the "business as usual" model in the Limits to Growth predictions of the 1970s. What do you think?

If there is a for profit motive involved in it? I have serious doubts about how well tested and studied it is.

I read the first article. The MIT one. It is interesting and it is very interesting that they reside in Mexico and launched it here.

I also, think the problems of the everyday is terrible here and in other countries. Just solve the hard water problem in the Yucatán first and polluted water that is public in Mexico and the US first. If they can solve contaminated water issues all over the globe first? We then move on to the next problem, like too many landfills and getting rid of plastics in the ocean.
