I'm sure none of you remember that, I predicted where we are now.

The vaccines don't give move than a few months immunity.
Having had covid was not a 1 time thing. It isn't like smallpox. It is like the common cold.
I didn't predict 'long covid', though. Nobody did.

I just want to say, "I told you-all so".

Well done. I didn't predict that exact thing. However I did say that not only should the populace accept a higher level of deaths, but that it would. I believe America has settled down to about a hundred thousand Covid deaths a year. Even one death from Covid made Donald Trump a murderer, but apparently a hundred thousand deaths under Joe Biden is just fine.

One of the great problems that I had was with Liberal retards. So when I said I opposed lockdowns, they were so stupid that they thought I meant not just there should be no government measures at all, but that there should be no change in behaviour. Of course behaviour should change and will change in response to a serious epidemic. It was also right to have government measures to give people the choice of isolating for a period, but there was never any good justification for Lockdown, stopping people meeting in private.

A century ago, in the first flu, the cities that implemented restrictions had fewer deaths and a quicker recovery.

This is complicated, the CDC turns loose teams of specialists to keep public policy on point to fight disease. While they occasionally get it wrong, they are about a million times better at it than you.

No they are not! I was right and all this vast consensus of experts were wrong? Is that surprising. Well its shouldn't be.

Remember the Ides of March

15 March 44 BC. Did you learn nothing from that day. Good God if we've learnt nothing else, we should have at least established one fact, there are no experts in politics. On the 15th March, he blew it, he made an error that no expert in politics should make. And if Julius Caesar, that genius, that God couldn't master politics, what chance do you think us mortals have? What chance do leaders like Matt Hancock have? I don't mean to be insulting to Matt Hancock, but he was no Julius Caesar.

Its the same reason that there are no experts in economics, you can't have politics without economics and you can't have politics without economics. Handling a pandemic is politics. its not some narrow scientific field where you've got a fighting chance of isolating the variables. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that people spend their lives specialising in epidemiology, but the conclusions the specialists can give us are pretty limited when it comes to deciding public policy and guidance in the face of a pandemic or a potential pandemic.

We actually had a pretty good idea about the severity of the pandemic pretty early on from the cruise ships and we also had pretty strong certainties about its methods of spread. Why didn't I fall for the absurd drivel of gloves, of pathological hand washing, cleaning and antiseptics. Was it because I thought I understood the science better than all those scientists? No it was because I understood those scientists were acting as Priests. They were giving people rituals so as they could feel empowered. To give people the pathetic fantasy that they were really doing something significant to stop the viruses in the same way people were encouraged to believe that by cheering on Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest they were making a significant contribution to the defeat of the the Russian armed forces and security state.

You have delusions of competence.

The CDC had the president working against them, and they were doing the best they could. For example, you mentioned cruise ships. The CDC insisted 14 infected people on cruise ships be brought home using the proper protocols. Trump ignored them, and flew them back without precautions, which set off a wave of infection in the Pac NW.

They have a nearly impossible job, and they do it better than any other organisation in human history.

From the beginning, actual scientists said this same thing. This isn't revelatory.

I doubt many could have predicted long CoVid specifically, but the fact there we be unknowns is expected.

CoVid was always going to be a second flu, from the way it evolved-- Just like the "Spanish Flu" aka The Kansas Flu-- to Omicron marking its peak lethality. (Barring some fundamental mutation in the virus's ability to either stick to host cells, dodge host immunity, or otherwise camouflage itself).

If the right-wing politicians were less bankrupt there would never have been any controversy. Like everything, the right is all too willing to jump into medicine with almost zero qualifications beyond hysteria or religious superstition.
