The Telegraph has an article about the insane "Net Zero" policies in the EU, which is going to pay farmers in Ireland to kill their cows.

In an attempt to "reduce CO2 output" in Europe, these policies are going to end up making Europe import more meat and dairy products from other parts of the world, basically just killing the domestic agriculture industry.

Ireland's mooted cow massacre is a warning to net zero Britain, 2 June 2023, Jamie Blackett, The Telegraph

free version of article here for a limited time: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/ir ... 9b29&ei=14

"Spending vast sums of taxpayer's money on destroying productive animals would be a perfect summation of the net zero madness infecting the West."

"British beef and dairy farmers are now very jittery. It seems increasingly clear that there is an eco-modernist agenda to do away with conventional meat altogether. ... many of the world's politicians are on board."

Do you have a proper article? Jamie's rant wasn't very informative.

The claim that cattle sequester carbon has already been debunked, btw.

Farmers are also notorious for shitting where the rest of us eat;

Historically, the EU has paid for farmers to destroy their crops and cattle to the point where entire industries were created of accountants making such claims. The Dutch case most recently shows how this fake eco-madness can lead to very worrying results such as the rise of hard-right parties where none existed before.

Monbiot is the archetypal and stereotypical woke warrior and in reality the Supreme Champion of the Woke in Britain from his throne in the Guardian, lots of noise but no argument.

Monbiot provides zero solution in all 5 articles of his you posted, he just rants against farmers sometimes with merit sometimes not, but at no point does he provide an actual proposal.

Good articles. I'm much less sympathetic towards farmers after learning that they are responsible for more emissions than any other industry and face smaller cuts than any other industry.

Dairy cows are slaughtered at age 5 or 6 so there's no need to perform a cull since 2030 is more than 6 years away, although I wouldn't be surprised if many farmers mismanaged their herds and then threw a tantrum when faced with the consequences of their own actions.

Monbiot advocates for rewilding and has written a book promoting the idea. I don't think he needs to discuss specific solutions to river pollution when we're already familiar with sewers and septic tanks.

Cool, now put rewilding in the context of this thread, Monbiot's rants against farmers and the issue of food supply.

I don't have a problem with someone identifying a problem without providing a solution in the same breath and I don't consider Monbiot to be the be all and end all of environmentalism so I have no interest in playing whatever game you're advocating here.

The creed of the woke, I have the right to bitch, moan and whine ad infinitum and nobody dare ask me for a solution for the things I am whining about cause I will blame them for playing games with me.

Said the guy openly advocating for the destruction of farmers and ranchers while offering no proposal for replacing the food they are currently producing while openly moaning that this request is giving him psychological issues. Next you 'll be asking for compensation for invading your safe space of shitting on the meat and veg industry without question.

Not interested in your flies mate.
