Herman Cain has an interesting discussion topic on his website.

http://www.caintv.com/white-people-beware-you-may-be

It talks about political correctness. It includes a clip of Obama talking, which stealthily changes to a clip from Saturday Night Live, which shows an actor, portraying Obama, kicking a door open.

Image

Herman Cain is presenting this as truth, rather than edited fiction.

I would like to know where our conservatives stand with the actual truth of this matter.

Let's look at some of the comments from Facebook.

Deb Koehler-Fergen Totally ridiculous. But, what concerns me more is the video clip of O's agressive anger shown by kicking open the door because he was frustrated! He shows his true colors here. Oops, was that a microagressive comment? O & his wife are more racist than anyone I know.

Dana Gordon Bigham Seriously stupid. Much more disturbing that the "leader" of this great country actually kicked a door open like an immature child. Behavior like that is unacceptable by a president.

John Sanderson Well now. The entire concept of "microaggression" is idiotic. That's like saying I have a "microtantrum" every time I sneeze in the direction of someone who irritates me. In fact, at this very moment, I'm having a "microinfuriation" over the idiocy of this "macrostupidity".
Thank you Mr. Cain for continuing to share reality with U.S. GOD Bless You. Oops! I think I just "microoffended" somebody by mentioning GOD on a public forum.

Elizabeth Valentin Napieralski I am Hispanic and quite frankly, such childish behavior from Obama are repulsive and shameful. Kicking doors really? The man has no sense of decorum or class

Kristi Ward McMurtry I think a president kicking a door open is VERY unprofessional and a BAD example to all! Doesn't matter WHAT color he is!! I am white. I don't believe in "races". We are the human race made up of different nationalities!

Willard Ferguson Actions speak louder than words. Kicking that door said more than anything in his speech. If he cannot control his temper at a press conference than he should not be the president where serious matters are very important.

Cynthia White Lee People DO realize the Jay Leno clip was digitally edited AS A JOkE, right?! Oh, for heaven's sake.... smh

Ethel Hogue Ealson Did he really kick that door with cameras running! What class! Uh oh, bet that is racist huh? I just want to know, are "microaggressions" only made by white people? How about when a white person is called a "honkie"? Is that not racist?

Glenn Vaudreuil Is that video legit? Is that really our commander in chief? I already hate Obama and have no respect for the "man". This is exactly why I feel the way I do about him. He is supposed to be the worlds greatest leader? He is such an embarrassment.

Sharon Elliott-Voght I offer no apologies for my contribution to a gathering that celebrates anyones heritage. This is way overboard. Another topic- What is this fit big O is having? Why hasn't it been on the airways? Maybe it has and i just haven't seen it but a child not getting his way is what i am seeing.

Randy Humphries Look at the little man get violent. , if that were this white boy doing that, Id be charged with destruction of public property, vandalism and disorderly conduct... Citizens arrest!!! Wheres Barney Fife when you need him?

Janet Bickford Spann I'm tired of the PC police! In my feeble brain celebrating Cinco de Mayo was embracing the Mexican culture not microagression. Its disgusting that now we can't celebrate our differences because someone takes it the wrong way! And you are disrespecting people if you tell them something they don't want to hear. Respect is given to someone who earned it not demands it! And our President is an ego on legs and acts like a spoiled child when crossed!

Kristi Riddle Stanley Did the president of the united States really just kick a door?!?! Never thought I would ever see that. Disgraceful! Another thing to add to the long list of offences against the office and the American people

Eric Ross How presidential!

Richard Hardy This is our weak leader showing how CHILDISH he is when things don't go his way. So disgraceful!..It is time for him to GO!

Charlie Mitsios I can't stand the guy. But is this video of him kicking that door real?

Ann Head So does that mean Obama is and has committed a " Microagression" pretending to be black and th president of our great country?

Dean Chapman Did that SOB really kick the door??? That should've went viral.

Boots Mette this is the moron that is our president

Deborah Helton Hoopaugh This POS has set this country back 60 years.

Ron Johnson Look like Mr president. throwing a temper tantrum I did not even he could get publicallly angry. Vote him out

Bonnie Harris Childish behavior from a President. Period

Donna Brown What a jerk, tell us what issued him off so we can do it everyday.

Kent Harmon This is retarted

Cal Benghazi Murphy Mr Herman Cain, the "man" in the photo is real, the photo is real; this is a petulant manchild angry because he didn't get his way. This isn't about the color of anyone's skin. Let's be honest here, this manchild is NOT black! His mother, porn star that she was, was 100% white; his father was 50% black and 50% Arab; he is twice as white as he is black, and it was the Arab in him that caused him to bow to the Saudi "King". Posting this has nothing to do with racism, it has to do with showing what an immature "human being" he is. If Bush, and I'm not a Bush fan, had done this they would have covered this in the media as evidence that Bush had lost his mind. The fact is Soetoro has never had a mind to lose. This illegal White House resident has the same respect for Federal property as he does for us, NONE. No one, white, black, Arab or pin-striped is above the law or criticism.

Lee-Anita Brown O'Rourke I hold any President to a higher standard of behavior than I do others...after all, he is the President. That said, storming out of a press conference and kicking the door? Sounds more like a two year old's temper tantrum than a behavior I expect to see from the President of the United States of America!

Angelo Vaz Very childish not Presidential at all MAN CHILD!

James Lonon He later tried to pass this tantrum off as humor. No, it's called abuse of public property and disrespect for OUR White House.

Michael Dillard Good response Steven Walker...I've said the exact same thing! I don't like either side of him...he is a joke of a POTUS!

Janice Vincent Kicking in the door? Really? How childish can he get?!

Sue Chiasson I COULD CARE LESS WHAT ovomit THINKS..!.I HAVE NO RESPECT FOR HIM...AT ALL!!

Melissa R. Clark This foolishness is all about covering the real issues at hand. It's childish and petty and a waste of time I'm very disappointed in out President matter not his color.

Jeffrey Russo Very presidential ..... Storming off because he was being questioned!

Errol David Beard While this
Muslim SOB is destroying America we aren't supposed to give a "microfart" about it !

Joseph Gem II Don't evan know how to comment on this.......other than wow.

Terry Reddick One has to wonder what the doors in the living quarters look like.

Melissa Berard What the hell is this? What kind of president does this? Are you kidding?? Please tell me this is a joke! This is an Obama look-alike, right???

Michelle Johnson So the white part of Barack Obama kicks the door open and the black part of Barack Obama is on the other side of the door being hit? Is that what they mean by two faced?

June Christensen Gentine OMG!! This is our President! What is the world coming to? He's acting like a spoiled child.

Mandy Neel Grantham Did he really kick in the door? That's enough for impeachment right there.

Desri Sullivan Did Obama kick in a door? So he didn't set a poor example for ALL people but people of color not? Do they expect us to hold our breath and die! Just because they are worse racists. It's their hate not whites we mostly make fun of stuff like that poor student! sMH

Sean Thoman Immaturity, Reagan would smile and continue to work for compromise instead of throwing a temper tantrum

Debi Bacchus This act of obama kicking the door pretty much sums up his attitude towards our country.

Rhonda Grider Lahr Some people seem to be more concerned with proving Obama didn't kick the door open.
Didn't anyone see Leno's farewell show?

Greg Creager Temper tantrums and hissy fits! Mr Obama, you are a disgrace!!

David Gupton If he gets this angry during a press conference he doesn't have the mental stability to be President.

Sandra Wooten Carver Shameless for the President of the United States of America to act in such a manner publicly or privately.

Rick Lashley So skip the whole email with the gif in it, what I want to know is did BO leave a news conference wherein he kicked open a door? If so does this not ring any alarms for anyone about this guys ability to lead as a dipolomat?

Robert Harrell The Real Obama the Hateful Black Racist.!

Brenda Cummins What a bunch of crap! How unpresidential!!

Russell Sims nice pic of the idiot known as our president

Dave Mansfield When obama doesn't get his way, doors must be replaced (at taxpayer expense). Buy stock in doors because there will be more and more of this as the truth comes out! WATCH VIDEO >>

Dianne Calmes I never saw this door-kicking before. Well, wasn't that Presidential?

Ryan L. Natschke I'm a proud racist. Unfortunately the former definition of the term no longer exists, it now means PATRIOT!

Jim Stafford You can tell he's a man of great patience, composure and self control.

Kenneth Cook The only correctness in this world, is not politically, it is in the King James Bible. This man has issues.

Skip Supczynski Kicking the door open? Really? Very Presidential don't you think? He could maybe use a few Anger Management sessions.

Fritz Christman It looks like the door got some racist acts against it for being wood. Just because your a wooden door doeent mean you can be kicked what about the doors feelings.

Joao Teixeira Is this real footage? Dangerous, when a person with so much power does this kind of things,..

Barbara Cowgill Is that a real clip of the President? If a man/woman can't hold their emotions and act like an adult, stay out of politics. People in our country should know you need a VERY thick skin to be in politics any where!

John Harris This Heinz 57 kicking that door ought to be charged for a brand new one.

Naomi McConaghy Just another incidence of our Whiney pres. Throwing a temper tantrum. So very unpresidential.

Sharon Darlene Rose Swerdfiger Have any of these nitwits read the news lately. Yes, young black men ARE more violent and angry than whites. Sorry, but if the shoe fits....

Edna Irene Boddy I think it is hilarious that Obama lost his temper and kicked the door LOL" I don't care what makes me.

Peter Anglim un-presidential nothing more nothing less

Frank Shyjka On a busy street I signal white drivers turn left in front of me while I stop traffic for them, but not for them other kinds

Kent A. Brindley So now it's whitey's fault that Barack Obama (a grown man) thinks that it's completely appropriate to kick open doors in frustration? Hey wait, my Facebook photo is of a white male (that would be me); is that a microagression too?

Sherry Helmsing He actually did kick this door!!

Parker Arnold ok, the kickin the door down was a hoot

Lonnie Crume Odumbo is such a potus classless scum. piece of totally useless sh*t

Ruth Rearden this is a fine example for presidental acts

Lyn Verna Finally, the POTUS knows just how I feel about the state of the country. I kick my door all the time.

Marie Newman This stuff is getting outrageous

Mike Palmer Is it micro aggression if I'm white and I kick the door after returning home from a Cinco de Mayo party? Just asking.

Carole Schroll Great our president throws temper tantrums. Please could we elect an adult this time.

Truth and Herman Cain - these words should bever be uttered in a sentence. I don't know what's more pathetic; that he's trying to pass the clip of as legit or that these dumbasses are believing it.
#14365661
Also, am I am the only person who thinks it would be kind of awesome if the clip were real? Besides, it's not like it would be the first time a politician ever kicked a door in on TV.

South Korean politicians have been known to kick in doors, smuggle tear gas canisters into the chamber, and even smash desks with fire axes, while cameras are rolling. Japanese politicians have been known to literally put each other into headlocks. British politicians - such as Michael Heseltine - have waved the mace at each other, and in the case of Gordon Brown, have banged on desks, and kicked chairs over.

I always get the sense that Americans live in a strange world where somehow no-one ever loses their temper in politics, ever, to the extent that even a joke about a guy cosplaying as Obama, kicking a door, can be controversial. It makes no sense. Like, how wimpy are Americans?

"Oh no, he kicked a door, I'm really scared for the future of the country! Oh, you mean, that's not Obama, it's a cosplayer? Well, if the real Obama had kicked a door, I would be scared for the future of the country!" -- America.

Incredible.

Cain's not trying to pass the clip off as real, he's commenting on the guy who originally posted it and the reaction that he's gotten to it. It sounds like that guy didn't know it wasn't real, but it wasn't even the point of his original post, he said he included it to add some levity. It was never the focus of anybody's article from what I can tell.

Until this thread of course.

Joe Liberty, what do you have to say about the reactions from the viewers on Facebook?

it would be kind of awesome

It bothers me how misused and bandied about the term "awesome" is these days. The word has lost practically all of its meaning and now is a yupster synonym for "cool".

The root of the word of course is something that inspires "awe". Awe, in the classical sense means abject terror, from the old english, "ege". When something therefore inspires "awe" to the degree that it could be described as "awesome" one should appreciate that it is a description of an event of profound, arresting, blinding terror, and not something that is "cool" or "good" as modern yuppies and hipsters seem to believe.

Let's look at some of the comments from Facebook.

Facebook is one of the most conservative neoliberal homosexual platforms for hate speech on the internet next to 4chan. It seems to be filled entirely with queer, neoliberal paleoconservative, anarchist fascists yuppies and hipsters.

A lot of knee-jerk hysteria and hyperbole, like just about every other reaction to just about everything on Facebook.

No he isn't. And wow, how much time did you waste composing that wall of text for such an invented controversy?

It seems to me to just be an easy way to deliberately spread misinformation and lies, all under the guise of Freedom of Speech.

There are plenty of reasons that one might want to dislike Obama, it would be nice if these non-supporters would dislike him for a FACTUAL reason, rather than something that someone made up about that -Muslim Atheist-.

American politics, especially the so-called mainstream world of politics where nothing exists but Republicans and Democrats, is almost completely based upon emotion and tribal fealty. That is not endemic to one "side" or the other, but I agree that it's detestable and counter-productive.

What is troublesome to me is that not much effort was made to correct the misconception in the original post, by Herman Cain.

The last time something like that actually happened was when, in the Senate chambers, Con. Preston Brooks beat Sen. Charles Sumner with a cane. http://www.senate.gov/artandhistory/his ... Sumner.htm Since then, after the civil war that followed, our public officials tend to be more gentle natured, when it comes to physical acts of aggression anyway. The American people just don't care as much about avenging personal honor, like they used to. We would tend to see it as being an immature through back to the middle ages. Though I do think that all things being equal, a number of politicians have been behaving like grown up spoiled brats, and therefore deserve to be given a whooping, as much as any.

So what's the point of this thread then? To highlight the fact that facebook political comments lack decent content and are filled with passive-aggressive racism? Yeah, and the same could be said for comments on most major political websites. Way to go Robert Laurie for that incisive commentary, you really opened my eyes.

Agreed, American politics have become so petty and trite these days. Who wants boring politicians? You haven't properly lived until you've kicked door in at least once.

Actually, I would take it a step further, Facebook and a lot of e-mail circulates blatant lies.

For example: When Obama recently went on a trip in the US, I can't remember where, the governor, an openly against Obama governor, gave to Obama a hat from the local sports team. "Rumor" circulated that Obama took the hat and threw it on the ground. A few people I was talking to said that it was (another) dick move by Obama...Except for the fact that it wasn't true. Just a bit of common sense: would Obama really throw any sports memorabilia to the ground and alienate those die-hard fans?

For example: After the latest shooting at Fort Hood, it circulated that former President Bush not only went to visit Fort Hood, but that Obama asked Bush to leave...how unpresidential of Obama, eh? Except, that it's not true.

All of this mistruth circulating. If you want to dislike Obama, at least dislike him for something true, not for some lie that someone made up...

Remember, because some question the birth certificate, it still, "must," be a controversy.

There are plenty of reasons for someone to dislike Obama. What I find funny is that the barrage of lies has made a lot of, "patriots," dislike him, because of...again, lies.
