This comes from an interview of Elon Musk with Tucker Carlson.
TikTok video
transcript:
Elon Musk: "You've been to downtown SF (San Francisco), right? Have you seen this?"
Tucker Carlson: "Oh yeah, I was born there. Yeah, yeah..."
Elon Musk: "Like, one of the most beautiful cities in the world... and now you have to step over the drug needles, and the feces, and the bodies.
One couple I met, their final straw for leaving San Francisco was, they came home one night and there was a dead body in front of their garage. They couldn't get their car in. Couldn't park their car. ... Yeah, there's no street parking. They're like, this is a corpse in front of the garage. And they don't want to move the corpse, because, like, maybe they (the authorities) need to figure out why the guy died or something, you know? But they're in a bit of quandary, because they got no place to park their car. And they feel that they shouldn't really remove the dead body, so they call 911, and say there's a dead body outside our house. And they said, well... 911 in San Francisco said, 'Are you in danger right now?' And they're like 'Well no, he's dead. Pretty sure he's dead.' And they're like 'Ok. We'll send someone TOMORROW, to pick up the body.' Like what do you mean tomorrow?! So they're like going in and out of their house while there's a dead body outside right in front of their house. Like took them 24 hours or something like that to eventually pick up the body. And they're like 'How about this, we're leaving.'
There's a million anecdotes like that."
"Oh I know."
Elon Musk: "This is not rare. ... I got so many anecdotes.
About a year ago, there were three Twitter employees, who were just leaving the building, walking down Market Street, in San Francisco. Market Street used to be a beautiful wonderful street. Obviously, it's called Market Street because that's where the market was. Now it's boarded up shop windows and stuff. And, um... They were chased by a guy with an axe. He wanted to... They outran him. And they reported 'Hey, there's a guy with an axe, who tried to kill us, with an axe.' The police did nothing. And that guy, with an axe, consequently murdered two people."
"With an axe?"
"Yeah, with the axe. Because eventually he's going to find somebody he can outrun. And he did.
So what I'm saying is, if you don't stop axe murderers while they're attempting to axe-murder, eventually they will succeed in axe murdering people."
