I'm trying to download GIMP into my cousin's Vista computer, but it gets the following error message:

Access violation at address 00409942. Write of address 00401000.

Anyone know wtf is up with that?

From reading the Yahoo Answers thing that I posted earlier, it appears that your problem is a windows registry related issue. If there's some sort of free registry cleaner, I might want to give that a try.


Try running this and then reinstalling GIMP.
