Scifi is full of crazy and impossible ideas.

The craziest, and most impossible idea I know of is time travel.

The solar system is flying through Space real fast. At the same time we are revolving around the sun, with the Moon tugging at us.

So we make this slightly irregular corkscrew as we travel.

Scientists often say things like time-space. They are 2 sides of the same coin. So lets say you want to go back a year, just a year. That also means traveling a vast distance.

People like to think they could just make this portal and walk thru. A lot of physics won't go backwards. Except for tiny amounts, this seems to be true for time travel.

If you had some number of billions of dollars, you could go back a fraction of a second. But be careful, you don't want to wind up underground when you get there, or a thousand feet up, or...

Time travel is believable only if you ignore the Space part, where you have to transport yourself billions or trillions of miles with an accuracy that would make NASA faint if you asked them to do it...

There are other problems, as well, but if it comes down to actually building the thing, with the tech we have now?

Which is why the parallel Earth sent UFOs to our universe, so we would concentrate on space travel and the search for aliens, and not devote any resources to solving the problems of time travel and accessing a parallel universe. If we can time travel to “Earth 2,” we can interfere with their history and prevent them from developing time travel.
