Nuclear, as some people seem to be unaware of, is a limited resource and will be gone once its spent. This development will only accelerate the more its used.

All crude oil will return over time, when life interacts with the sun, creating new carbohydrates, which under exclusion of oxygen and under pressure and heat over time turn into new crude oil. Basically fill the planet with plants and you can create new crude oil from them (or just for example ethanol, which is easier to create). That would even also remove the excess carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, too (of course only until you burn that ethanol etc again).

Fissionable nuclear fuel however is only created in very rare and very violent astronomical events, like a supernova or the even much more rare kilonova, a collision of a neutron star with a compareable astronomical body. Even being a couple lightyears close to any such event would kill all life on earth, remove the atmosphere and water and turn the planet into a hot ball of magma.

The only thing that will be left once fissionable nuclear fuel is spent will be nuclear waste, and the nuclear pollution that already happened in the places where we got the nuclear fuel from in the first place.

Thus no, nuclear power has no future. It is by very definition of the thing a limited and irreplacable resource. Unlike any other resource, you cannot gain it back.

We have a friggin giant fusion reactor in the sky. Its power can be extracted with solar and wind energy. Its basically "free". And it doesnt poison the environment or cause climate change, either.

Also, both solar and wind power are riddiculously cheap compared to nuclear power, too.
