I don't like Crean at all, or Beazley...in fact I think ALP (Australian Labour Party) should really stand for Another Liberal Party

Yeh mate - couldn't agree more.

PS: re the Crean avatar thing ... that was a joke ! Definitely
a joke. Crean has about as much chance of becoming a great
world leader as Kylie Minogue does.

Joe, why is Simon Crean resigning good for independents?

I sincerely hope for labour's sake they don't re-elect Kim Beasley. That would be the height of stupidity. Mark Latham would be a breaths of fresh air and would steer labour back towards their grass roots. It seems the only credible candidates are Beasley and Latham, though Kevin Rudd may be a wildcard.

I sincerely hope the whole party undergoes some transformation.

atm they are more centred than the Democrats who are more left-winged than the labor party, and their leadership has been pretty bad in the past few years. Howard has been very politically savvy but he's had an easy run from both labor and the democrats which have been seriously undermined recently.

:( Trouble is ... knowing them ... that's exactly what they'll do.

:| It's kinda disturbing that there will be many many Austalians who have
never had the chance to vote for anyone but Howard & Beazley
for PM.

Gandalf - when your an Independent, youre by yourself, you dont have to follow party lines, you see Labor follow a party line, hence Crean quitting because he was called by his 'members' to resigned and he did, because his party members wanted him to ;)

It shows that Independents are Independent ;)

Well if they want to dig their own grave, what can be done? They say that Beazley can relate to the people, oh right thats why he lost two successive elections :knife:

Its vecayse nihes the only one people actually know. They don't know the others, exept rudd and hes even worse than beasley. Latham seems the best choice but I won't em to fail so I officialy support beazly.
