We, the signatories of this declaration, recognize the necessity that the Clerk of the House, with the powers and responsibilities of a Speaker as defined by the current constitution, must be of honest, neutral and diligent character perform the duties of the office fully against all odds.

We have come to know the right honorable Subversive Rob for several years during his tenure as moderator of the Europe sub-forum and we recognize his character as knowledgeable, balanced, able, and esteemed. For these qualities, we also recognize his character to be one capable of performing the duties of the Clerk of the House. Furthermore, we believe his service, apart from the immense requirement of easing the symptoms of today's political instabilities, will set a good precedent for the office of the Clerk to this young republic, for we relentlessly work and pray for her survival.

In conclusion: Since the election of an MP from largest party as Speaker is a democratic tradition as long as the qualifications described in the first paragraph of this declaration are satisfied and since the right honorable Subversive Rob, with his credentials, highly qualifies for the job:

We, twelve humble members of this parliament, with the spirit of goodwill, cooperation and justice, publicly declare our support for the election of the right honorable Subversive Rob as the Clerk of this House and would be honored to vote for him if he is to be nominated with a separate parliamentary motion with no direct or indirect strings attached.

The Clerk of the House and the Speaker are not elected officials, and not necessarily the same man, but designates of the government. Demo will be the Speaker and who is to be Clerk is yet to be decided. Dan is still Clerk until a government is seated which will be next week after the SN-RF's success in the confidence vote.
