The V Eastern Economic Forum 2019 will take place on 4"6 September in Vladivostok on the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) campus.
The business program of the Forum includes four main areas:
Under the topic "New Solutions for Accelerating Economic Growth" will be discussed mechanisms, which should provide an increase in economic growth in the Russian Far East until 2025 and improving the quality of life of population in this region.
In particular, there will be considered different issues of improving such preferential regimes as territories of advanced development and the Free Port of Vladivostok, as well as the development of the Far Eastern Hectare program, the future of the Arctic, and the prospects for creating a new transport infrastructure. In addition, session participants will discuss the development of key industries such as agriculture, the fishing industry and the timber industry.
Under the topic "Improving the Business Environment" will be discussed ssues related to investor support, including the availability of financial services, the development of transport infrastructure, the transition to project financing in development, the protection of investor rights.
Under the topic " The Far East and Asia Pacific: Fostering Collaboration " will be discussed issues of integration of the Far East into the economies of the Asia-Pacific region, the development of the Northern Sea Route, ecology, international scientific and technical cooperation and customs administration.
The block "New solutions to improve the quality of life" will be devoted to the topic of social development of the Far East. Participants will discuss the development of healthcare, education, housing and public utilities and the urban environment, as well as mechanisms for improving the labor market in the Far East.
"The forum has become a leading international platform where global issues of the world economy, integration processes in the Asia-Pacific region, and the development of new industries and technologies are discussed. However, today the EEF is one of the instruments for the development of the Russian Far East. Discussions contribute to the economic, technological and social development of the region, as well as improving the quality of life in the Far East," said Anton Kobyakov, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee for the Preparation and Holding of the Eastern Economic Forum, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation.
The Russian-Chinese media forum, the high-level Intergovernmental Russian-Singapore Commission, and the conference "The Common Economic Space from the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean" will be held on the sidelines of the EEF-2019. Presentations of the investment potential of the Far East regions and the opening ceremony of new enterprises of the Far East will also take place.
"Over the years, the forum has become a recognized international platform for discussing multilateral cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region," said Anton Kobyakov. - This confirms the participation in EEF-2018 of representative delegations led by top officials of states. The unification of leading politicians, businessmen, scientists and experts from almost all Asia-Pacific countries on one platform creates a unique basis for international cooperation."
According to the results of the IV Eastern Economic Forum, held in Vladivostok on September 11"13, 2018, 220 agreements were signed for a total of 3.108 trillion rubles (those whose sum is not a trade secret).
The forum was attended by 6002 delegates and 1357 media representatives from 60 foreign countries. The largest delegations (officials and business representatives) were from countries such as China (1,096 people), Japan (570 people), the Republic of Korea (335 people), as well as Mongolia, the United States and Great Britain. North Korea was represented by 12 people.
Among high-ranking foreign politicians, the forum was visited by Chinese President Xi Jinping, Mongolian President Khaltmaagiin Battulga, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Lee Nak Yong, and the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
The forum was attended by more than 340 heads of foreign companies. For the first time, the heads of the two largest oil companies in China, occupying the 3rd and 4th places in the international ranking of Fortune Global 500 companies, respectively, attended the EEF site: the chairman of SINOPEC (China Petroleumand Chemical Corporation), Mr. Dai Houliang, as well as the president of China National Petroleum Corporation Mr. Wang Yilin.
But the most important thing is not even these official figures. People in the West and in the USA should pay attention, first of all, to this:
Speaking at the EEF in 2018, Xi Jinping strongly emphasized his interest in cooperation with Russia. Relations with Russia, according to Xi Jinping, are in the best of times.
