The pattern of lies and lying that Mueller has uncovered isn’t random. Many of the verified lies told by Flynn, Manafort, Gates, Papadopoulos, Van Der Zwaan and Cohen were told to protect both the tellers and the man at the top of the prosecutorial pyramid that Mueller is building: Donald Trump. Trump’s troubles are only now beginning. As Garrett M. Graff recently wrote, there are more than a dozen investigations into the various scandals connected to the president, from the Russians’ hack of the election to the purchase of influence by Middle Easterners to obstruction of justice to inauguration committee funding to campaign finance fraud. On Jan. 3, a Democratic House of Representatives will be seated and pursue aggressive, additional oversight into Trump’s affairs, further complicating his life. I can’t wait until Trump tweets his view that Congress should be dissolved.

It is going to be a really fun year for Donald  …… my only hope is that he doesn't pop off a few nukes and incinerate California.

I hope you never have to go through what you are wishing on Trump. Have you not considered all these investigations are because they can’t find anything? There is no reason for them if there was any evidence of wrong doing. Mueller obviously has taken his investigation well beyond it’s intent and he still has nothing on Trump.

Ummm, seems like lots has been found but it's a long list that I do not have time to go thru.

:?: I had to read this one 3x. No reason to investigate if there is evidence of wrong doing :?: ?

One Degree wrote:Mueller obviously has taken his investigation well beyond it’s intent

The special counsel has been told by the Justice Department to investigate links or co-ordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with Mr Trump’s presidential campaign, and any other matters that arise directly from that endeavour. Unlike the three separate congressional inquiries into Russian government meddling in last year’s election, Mr Mueller is authorised to prosecute anyone who committed a federal crime . The purpose of Mr Mueller’s investigation is not to take down Mr Trump. It is to make it harder for foreign governments to interfere in future elections.

@jimjam is not a criminal, so he'd probably not be concerned if he was being investigated.

One Degree wrote:Have you not considered all these investigations are because they can’t find anything?
They do not continue investigations that are finding nothing. This investigation is resulting in dozens of charges and sending people to jail. It's also resulting in creating many new investigations into criminal activity. Your statement is illogical.

One Degree wrote:Mueller obviously has taken his investigation well beyond it’s intent and he still has nothing on Trump.
His job is to serve the justice system, not Trump's ego. His job is to seek out and prosecute criminal activity. Trump's a criminal, and so he has much to fear from Mueller's investigations.

Everyone is a criminal if the federal investigators want you to be. Curious how liberals think federal law enforcement is guilty of all kinds of crimes, but they are pristine when going after Trump. Just more hypocrisy that is irrational.

It is possible that that is true, however, it may also be true that Donald Trump did not collude with the Russians to change the result of the 2016 election. It could be true that he won it fair and square. Praise the Lord.

@One Degree More Conspiracy theories? Now federal investigators are corrupt if they investigate Trump? Also, where's the hypocrisy? It's the FBI's job to investigate things. You are simply upset that they investigated Clinton and yet could not find anything to charge her with. He corruption was too insignificant, and up to the party(Democrats), to punish, not the law. The Dems SHOULD have done something, but they were too stupid.

@Hindsite If Trump won fair and square, then good on him. If not, then wouldn't you want to know? Would you not want to prevent tampering with the US electoral system? Would you not want Trump prosecuted if he is found guilty of this?

The FBI found things to charge Hillary for, but Comey took it on himself to announce not to prosecute her because she was the Democrat candidate for president. Trump won the election and is being harassed because the Democrats and their media can't accept the fact that they were wrong. It is clear that Trump is not guilty of tampering with the election and the Democrats are so angry that they only want to resist and hinder the success of Trump as President and hope to be able to come up with enough reasons to impeach him in revenge for making them cry.

That is false.

Do some reading:
Why the FBI Let Hillary Clinton Off the Hook
Technically speaking, that conclusion could have put Clinton in legal jeopardy. The laws regarding handling of classified information don’t authorize punishing government officials for carelessness, but they are written so broadly they come close. One section of the Espionage Act, 18USC793(f), for example, says anyone authorized to handle secrets who “through gross negligence permits the same to be removed from its proper place of custody … shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both.” Other laws controlling government secrets are similarly broad, especially with regard to Top Secret material.

In practice, however, law enforcement officials have set a high bar for prosecuting violations of those laws, looking for clear criminal intent, which Comey said was absent in the Clinton case. Because the government is awash in secrets, they are regularly mishandled unintentionally. In 2013, according to the National Archives, which tracks classification, executive branch agencies created more than 77 million documents with secrets in them, including 46,800 with newly created secrets. The FBI receives dozens of referrals of leaked classified information every year, according to Justice Department declarations to Congress.

Prosecutors have also been wary of testing whether broad prosecutions under the espionage laws would hold up in court, especially in cases of news organizations pursuing Secret or Top Secret information for publication. In the Clinton probe, investigators found that at least some of the classified information referred to was contained in a newspaper article that aides then forwarded to Clinton.

To be sure, the Justice department has been aggressive in prosecuting leaks in some cases, especially under President Obama. But Clinton’s mishandling of secrets did not clear the bar for prosecution, Comey said Tuesday, when compared to other cases that have been taken to court. “In looking back at our investigations into mishandling or removal of classified information, we cannot find a case that would support bringing criminal charges on these facts,” Comey said.

The fact that several of Trump's associates have been criminally charged and sentenced shows that he is not being "harassed". He is being investigated, and rightly so.

If, or when, he is found guilty, will you be so quick to jump to his defense, as a proper traitor to your country would?

Hindsite wrote:It is clear that Trump is not guilty of tampering with the election and the Democrats are so angry that they only want to resist and hinder the success of Trump as President and hope to be able to come up with enough reasons to impeach him in revenge for making them cry.
No, this is a completely false statement. Until time as the investigation is complete, this will not be known. So far, where there has been smoke, there has been fire, as well.

Here's everyone who has been charged and convicted in Mueller's Russia probe so far
Michael Cohen, Trump's former personal lawyer

Paul Manafort, former Trump campaign chairman

Konstantin Kilimnik

Sam Patten, Republican lobbyist

Rick Gates, one of Manafort's business partners

George Papadopoulos, a former Trump campaign adviser

Michael Flynn, Trump's former national security adviser

13 Russian nationals and three Russian companies

California businessman Richard Pinedo

Alex van der Zwaan, a Dutch lawyer tied to Manafort and Gates

12 Russian intelligence officers

Changing the wording from "gross negligence" to "extreme negligence" does not make the act less of a crime. It is still the same crime and Hillary lied about it too, according to Comey. He only said that she did not lie to him, but that was because he was not the one to cross examine her. She should have been prosecuted, regardless of Comey's decision not to do it. Actually, that was not Comey's decision to make, which was one of the reasons the Deputy AG recommended that Trump fire him.

Regardless of what any associates of Trump did, it does not mean Trump is guilty by association. There is nothing on Trump and I doubt there will be when this witch hunt is over. There is no evidence that Trump even knew any of those Russian intelligence officers, so there is not even any association there.

Regardless, sometimes you don't lay charges because the chances of a conviction are not worth it. That was clearly the case, despite what you "believe". As he said in the post I just showed you, it was not something that would have ended up with a successful conviction.

Hindsite wrote: There is nothing on Trump and I doubt there will be when this witch hunt is over.
You are clearly delusional and cultist. This "witchhunt" already has over 20 convictions.

Hindsite wrote:There is no evidence that Trump even knew any of those Russian intelligence officers, so there is not even any association there.
He was closely associated with people who ARE guilty. It's doubtful that his hands are clean.

Comey couldn't be sure about that. It would all depend on the jury.

Godstud wrote:You are clearly delusional and cultist. This "witchhunt" already has over 20 convictions.

Ha, ha, 20 convictions, you must be hallucinating. There have been 5 so far and Trump had nothing to do with their convictions. Mueller is not going to be able to convict Trump for something others did just because he knew them. That is not how the U.S. justice system works.

Glenn Greenwald: Five Weeks After The Guardian’s Viral Blockbuster Assange-Manafort Scoop, No Evidence Has Emerged — Just Stonewalling

Historian Stephen Cohen patiently explains facts to Larry King, a guy who pretends to be a journalist. People who believe in the Russiagate conspiracy theory will no enjoy King's part in this discussion, but should also see the perspective of someone who has studied Russia for a lifetime.

I love this one from the Liar Liar Tongue On Fire Department. Paul Manafort, Trump's former Campaign Manager, has become entangled in his web of lies and his lawyers have come up with a really great way to help him weasel out of one of them.

Manafort’s attorneys did not deny that Manafort shared data with a GRU buddie of Putin, instead stating that he had not lied about it but was merely “unable to recall specific details prior to having his recollection refreshed”.

P.S. jimjam estimates that it would take about 5 minutes for Donald to be caught in a lie if he ever had the guts to testify in his own defense. The guy lies so much that there is no way he can ever keep track of his own lies as well as having lost touch a long time ago of any ability to discern the difference between lies and truth.

You Democrats have been lying to yourself about how much Trump lies that you now believe your own lies.

The facts are there for everyone to see. He lies and they have it on record. You seem to be one of the Cultists that refuses to believe your false-god can lie. It's really quite sad and shows a very low level of education, but high level of gullibility.

Most of us are not Democrats, either, so your rants are empty and meaningless.

Then why is it, pray tell, that Fatso Trump's legal team is scared shitless about the idea of Fatso showing up in person to testify. All he has to do is have the guts to defend himself and, maybe, let us have a look see at his tax returns.

The 2020 election will decide if it's the Whitehouse or the jailhouse for Fatso...…………….

The lack of life experience in people’s opinions leads to erroneous assumptions. Federal judges are appointed for life. They are the epitome of ‘power corrupts’. Appearing before one of these power mad despots throws all of your beliefs about ‘fair treatment’ out the window. Anyone who believes Trump should be charged or voluntarily agree to any type of interrogation is simply a naive fool at best or a lying syncophant. Their purpose is not to find out the truth, but to pursue an agenda.

Go sit in a federal court room and see what really happens.
