@anarchist23

I am sorry to bust your bubbles but

US is currently on track to become an oil exporter and fully cover its own oil dependence in around 1-3 years. It is expected that the US will only need around 7-8% of oil from abroad in 2019. Which is 1.4 to 1.6 million barrels. Canada usually supplied around 3.5 million barrels so a big chunk of Canadian supplies might disappear this year. The US doesn't need pricey Venezuelan oil if it has its own light crude from oil shale. And the reserves of that oil shale is plentiful.

It is not about oil.

I still believe it's better for Venezuela to get regime-changed by Trump than someone much worse as Obama or Hillary, not to mention Romney who even dared to call Russia the number one geopolitical foe of the US. :)

Most of Venezuelan oil reserves are heavy crude, it can't compete in any shape or form with oil shale right now which produces light crude. On top of that, Venezuela has no good relations with the US so they have no need to subsidise the stability of Venezuela :eh:

Where exactly do you think Venezuelan financial assets that are being freezed come from? Without oil being in Venezuela nobody would even know who Maduro was now - like most of the dictators we have in Africa today. So this is indeed all about oil actually. America need to protect their Petro Dollar at all costs. And it isn't a coincidence that any nation high in oil who happens to be against American foreign policy becomes a target for sanctions and Anglo enemy number one. So shill the Yanks if you like. The rest of Europe is beginning to see the Empire for what it is.

Venezuelan oil industry is collapsing because its oil is not competitive and lack of investment. They have some income right now still left but it is a far cry from around 3.5mil-4mil barrels that they were producing. Now they produce 1.2 million barrels i think. (If not less) And that is with much cheaper oil prices. Bottom line is, Venezuelan oil will probably disappear from the global market or at the least will be reduced to negligible amounts.

US knows this. US do not run unprofitable businesses.

For more than a decade, the United States has employed sanctions as a policy tool in response to activities of the Venezuelan government or Venezuelan individuals.

Things don't change.

So you are telling me that one of the 2 biggest consumer markets in the world is using its economic might to shape the region in a manner it wants. Oh those poor countries that do not want to be friends with those consumer markets. What a shocker. No other country ever did that before.

I just want to thank you two guys for reminding us all of the importance of RACISM in promotion of wars against countries that have much less money to waste than our countries do.

Without racism to back rich Westerners, how could we justify destroying so many countries that are much weaker than ours and that have LESS resources per capita than we do?

Answer: we couldn't.

So the racism that you guys have so naturally provided and with so little effort, is very significant.

Thank you for the usual smears, @QatzelOk. Keep up the good work in the defence of the weak and feel good about yourself while smearing others on online forums and then complaining about people being pathological.

And neither were the SUV-driving nations' destruction of Iraq and Libya.

And the West is NOT buying oil at bargain prices from terror groups in those two countries.

And this HAS NOT proven to be a winning formula for multinational oil corporations (and military suppliers).

And after we get this neighboring country nice and destroyed, and Exxon is paying half price for Venezuelan oil (by buying it from our vassals and their terrorist agentsj), and millions of refugees are flooding across our borders... the West will finally sit down and listen to the song 'rehab' as the nukes are landing in Times Square.

If they don’t get invaded will you guys admit you were wrong or will you fallback on sanctions and covert action to blame for this mess of a country.

This despite that far more heavily sanctioned places do much better with less oil.

Also, ask yourself why these socialist utopias need to trade with the usa so badly in order not to be shit holes?

Aren't you underestimating the establishment's creativity in coming up with dishonest justifications? Today, "racist" practically speaking means someone in the first world who does not want to allow plutocrats to import cheap labor to drive wages down among the working classes.

Donald Trump saved the world from Hillary Clinton, destroyer of Libya. He was like an angel flying here and there, and he came down among us, then talked to us, woke us up, and he made it. Now he saves Venezuela from Nicolas Maduro. He's a great man.

You guys are like Brexiters in the UK. Calling people who want to help/explain the situation in Venezuela "Project fear", "Project war", "Project Racism" but the situation is that we are simply explaining reality to you and you guys can't see it through your rose-colored pro-maduro glasses.

I can't wait for him to declare he wants to be made 'president for life'; we'll still have some people claim he's a democrat! The country has a very large democratic deficit. Grown under both him and Chavez, reducing the separation of powers, politicising the police, army, judiciary, reducing press freedom. Even ending the political independence of the medical profession! Yeah!
