The first is that his statements can be safely ignored by all except those he fires.

That would brilliant except for the fact that Trump has 2 years left in a 4 year term.

It's like shooting fish in a barrel around here.

“We’re going to have insurance for everybody,” Trump said in press conference Jan. 11. “We’re going to have a healthcare that is far less expensive and far better.”

Or, as Donald said in a September 2015 “60 Minutes” interview, “I am going to take care of everybody. Everybody’s going to be taken care of much better than they’re taken care of now.”

Instead of his prior guarantee that no one would lose coverage gained through the Affordable Care Act, Trump adopted the double speak offered by now Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price (Tom was, I think, resignation/firing #79.) in his confirmation hearings, that Americans with pre-existing conditions will have “access” ("access" …. guess what..... I have "access" to purchasing a $100,000,000 condo.) to coverage.

Promises made and …… made again.

In the meantime in the Actions Speak Louder Than Words department: The Affordable Care Act touches the lives of most Americans. Some 21 million could lose health insurance if the Trump administration were to succeed in having the law ruled unconstitutional.

Trump's lie was that the repeal and replace would be immediate. You're ignoring it, like so many Trump cultists.

“Real change begins with immediately repealing and replacing the disaster known as Obamacare." - Donald Trump

It was a key campaign promise. Criticizing Trump for what he does and does not do is perfectly fine, is it not?

Yes, it is like shooting fish in a barrel...

All politicians say what they wish to happen. But no President can force the Congress to do something they do not want to do. So that is the fault of Congress not the President. It is the same way with securing the border with Mexico. The Democrats want an open border and will resist any effort by the President to secure it. The President would do everything he promised if he could get the required cooperation. The Democrats have no desire to make America great.

He made promises. They were key issues on his platform. Politicians who don't keep them are liars.

Obama lied about closing Guantanamo Bay. Trump lied about repealing the ACA. Both liars, but you think Trump's better. :knife:

Hindsite wrote: But no President can force the Congress to do something they do not want to do.
Except that he declared an emergency to do exactly that, so you're incorrect.

Hindsite wrote:The Democrats want an open border and will resist any effort by the President to secure it.
That's patently false, and you cannot provide a reliable source to support this stupid claim. It doesn't make it any more true when you debase yourself in Trump's name, by making silly claims.

Hindsite wrote:The President would do everything he promised if he could get the required cooperation.
He had all the power for almost two years and couldn't do fucking anything. Please stop making up bullshit. You know this is a false statement.

Democrats will continue to work toward comprehensive immigration reform that fixes our nation’s broken immigration system, improves border security, prioritizes enforcement so we are targeting criminals– not families, keeps families together, and strengthens our economy.

Neither do the republicans, it seems. Who says it was ever "great" anyhow?

There has never been any politician that has been able to keep all their campaign promises. Trump has kept some of his promises already and is at least attempting to keep the other ones. That is more than any other politician has ever done. The Democrats will not make anything better. They haven't done anything positive for the nation in the 90 days they have been in control of Congress. Their Presidential candidates are crazy socialists, idiots, or liars.

One of your big bragging points was that he wasn't LIKE the normal politicians. Are you afraid to admit that you were wrong, and that he is exactly like every other normal politician?

Hindsite wrote:They haven't done anything positive for the nation in the 90 days they have been in control of Congress.
 Trump was in control of Congress AND the House and the Executive branch for almost 2 years. You're really over-looking his faults, and that's only because of your grotesque infatuation with him.

Hindsite wrote:Trump has kept some of his promises already and is at least attempting to keep the other ones. That is more than any other politician has ever done.
No, that is what every politician has ever done. Trump is no different from any other sleazeball politician that's been President.

Hindsite wrote:Their Presidential candidates are crazy socialists, idiots, or liars.
Yes, the President is an idiot and a liar. You don't know what a socialist is, and this is evidenced by your mindless posts on that subject.

He's not.

President Trump never had control of Congress. However, he was able to sign a Tax Cutting and Jobs bill. He did have control of the Executive Branch and was able to cut a lot of job killing regulations.

I am sure the President is a genius, even Putin said so. Everyone can be said to be a liar, however, President Trump tells the truth on the important things to me. I am not voting for any of those crazy Democrats, whether are not you believe they are socialists. And of course, you can't vote for any of those crazies. Thank God.

Confused? That may well be Mr. Trump’s strategy: pretend you want expanded coverage while your operatives are pursuing strategies that would cost millions of Americans their coverage.

Garnering less attention but also an important component of Mr. Trump’s health care strategy are the huge cuts that he has proposed to Medicare and Medicaid (again, contrary to explicit campaign promises).

Now Mr. Trump is trying to finesse his way through the 2020 election by promising a plan immediately thereafter. For those of us of a certain age, that’s reminiscent of President Nixon’s false suggestion in the 1968 campaign that he had a “secret plan” to end the war in Vietnam.
