https://thediplomat.com/2018/04/corrupt ... -in-place/

the entire nation is suffering under a corrupt government and military rule.
pollution issues deforestation lack of morals selling young children for sex and lady boy prostution.

poor wages about 10 dollars us a day to a high average of 800 us a month
this is the result mof a corrupt goverment who turns a blind eye.

I had a neighbor who went there several times a year to indulge in the child sex prostution ,
he went to jail here in the states when he tried it glad hes out of the neighborhood.
I live in a gated peivate sommumity where home go for 275000 to about 500000 we try to keep such types out but thailand welcomes such people.
THailands sex trade is vast compared to most nations expecially with children a clear display of thier moral values.

crime is high in thailand despite having such severe penalitys.
in tourist areas its even higher with tons of mugger and purse snatcher feeding off tourist.

a high increase in drug use and expoert of drugs.
herion and opium are still number on but there is a huge increase in Yaba a mixture of meth and caffine.

the former prime minister was arrested for corruption stealing 8 billion .
the military regime in control has allegedly made corruption a worse problem and the legislation are well known for taking bribes and gifts.
Its not the type of nation I would ever vist to dangerious and I have no desire to have sex with lady boys or young kids male or female as it common there.
They are cracking down on immigration expecially from Cambodia yet I have seen people from from thailand being critical of others immigration policy .

Hiv is also a huge problem in thailand about 9 percent of the population this is mainly from the nations high rate of IV drug users snd transgender and child sex workers.

Animal abuse is wide spread in thailand also expecially involving elephants but this seems accepted and normal just like the sex trade with children again a display of the nations morals.

Domestic abuse is on the rise and common there . But with a nation that accepts prostution so widely Im not suprized.

Thailand has also been described as a haven for criminal from other nations on the run.
also gangs from other nation .

its all done by bribes given to the local police aand political leaders.

You should read the book how not to get murdered in Thailand if your going there due to the high rate of western tourists murdered there.

Ignorant trash by an ignorant poster. Typical of someone who actually knows nothing about the place, but wants to make a fuss and demonize it.

Cheap trolling, too. Whose puppet account are you? Hindsite? Blackjack21?

Everything you said about Thailand is false. Nice try.

I doubt you've ever opened a book, let alone read one.

First am not ingorant. Second all the information I posted was on the internet every bit of it. None of it is made up unless the news sources are lying .
Im sorry if you dont like it .Perhaps these sites were making it up as you claimed I was . If you calm down and ask nicely Ill post links to all of this information as l9ng as you offer to apologize for your above comments.
But as you said you have a right to comment on American politics.
Perhaps you should go lay down and calm your self down .
My Nation has its problems also please feel free to post about them .we can debate and compare if you like.
For instance we have a huge drug problem here in the Us .
I think you complained about our anti drug policy aginst .
I on the other hand have a issue with the meth cocaine and herion and fentanyl comming into the usa from mexico.
All of those drugs result in a increase health issues lost productivy increase in death and a increase in crime.
And fr9m my research the same effect is going on in thailand.
You expressed a dislike for Americas drug policy . perhaps you can go into depth about it and we can debate it . anyway have a nice day godstud .

Or debate the 2 nations immigration policy. Or the extent of corruption in each nation.
We could also debate the differances between a nation under military rule compared to a Democratic nation and include communist and socialist amd nations ruled by royality what few are left .
That would be a interesting debate

It merely took 5 seconds to look up how much Thais, and the AVERAGE income in Thailand is $800 USD. That's actually a decent amount, when you consider you can eat 3 great meals a day for $10 USD and still have money left over. Thailand also has a lower unemployment and poverty rate than USA.

So yes, most(if not all) of what you stated was complete fabrications(falsehoods). I could go into complete details and take apart everything you've said, but I don't have time to cast pearls before swine.

You know nothing about Thailand and even how you described the government shows complete ignorance. :knife:

I will not sit here and debate a person whose common reply is to call names and insult anyone who shows that they are wrong. Have a nice day, and please, stop making up lies. It does you a disservice.

Child prostitution is every bit as illegal in Thailand, as it is in USA.

USA has the same problem, but they pretend there isn't one, so this is a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

In 2001, the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Work released a study on CSEC conducted in 17 cities across the United States. While they did not interview any of the adolescent subjects of the inquiry, they estimated through secondary response that as many as 300,000 American youth may be at risk of commercial sexual exploitation at any time.[72] However, the actual number of children involved in prostitution is likely to be much smaller: over 10 years only 827 cases a year had been reported to police departments.[73] The Center for Court Innovation in New York City had used Respondent Driven Sampling (RDS), Social Network Analysis, capture/recapture, and Markov based probability estimates in 2008 to generate a prevalence estimate for New York City that suggested far fewer commercially sexually exploited children than the 300,000 and far more than the 827 suggested by these two most widely read sources.[74]

Especially vulnerable are homeless and runaways. The National Runaway Switchboard said in 2009 that one-third of runaway youths in America will be lured into prostitution within 48 hours on the streets.[75] This view of adolescent prostitution in the United States as primarily driven by pimp-exploiters and other "sex traffickers" was challenged by SNRG-NYC in their 2008 New York City study which interviewed over 300 under-age prostitutes and found that only 10% reported having pimps. A 2012 study done in Atlantic City, New Jersey, by the same group incorporated an extended qualitative ethnographic component that looked specifically at the relationship between pimps and adolescents engaged with street based sex markets.[76][77] This study found the percentage of adolescents who had pimps to be only 14% and that those relationships were typically far more complex, mutual, and companionate than has been reported by social service providers, not-for-profits, and much of the news media.[78]

The New York State Office of Children and Family Services estimated in 2007 that New York City is home to more than 2,000 sexually exploited children under 18. At least 85 percent of these youths statewide have had some contact with the child welfare system, mostly through abuse or neglect proceedings. In New York City, 75 percent have been in foster care.[79] Mishi Faruqee, who is in charge of juvenile justice issues for the Correctional Association of New York, questioned the reliability of the estimate. “We believe that number is really an undercount."[80] This is confirmed by SNRG-NYC's New York City population estimate of 2008 which was 3,946. The SNRG-NYC New York City study found that out of 249 underage prostitutes (48% female and 45% male) who constituted the final statistical sample, the average age of entry into the market was 15.29.

In 2013, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children documented over 10,000 reports of child sex trafficking. They say that this only represents a "tiny percentage" of the actual child sex trafficking.[81] They say that websites such as Backpage.com encourage dissemination of child sex trafficking content on its website. On average, Backpage.com sends NCMEC 300 ads a month that it believes involves children, which the NCMEC calls inadequate.[82]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child_pro ... ted_States

Most of it is guesswork, as even the stats on Thailand are from over 20 years ago. Things have changed, since then... especially enforcement of laws. Poverty isn't as rampant, etc.

[insult deleted - broke rule 2]Somehow, all wrongdoing is inspired by the existence of Donald Trump.[no, that still didn't make sense even before the insult was deleted - Prosthetic Conscience, mod]

Meanwhile, Thailand has a new king--considered a living deity in Thailand. Godstud makes life choices that seem inconsistent with his political views--which seem focused far more on countries in which he does not live.
#15005059
Human trafficking is not limited to any political outlook, blackjack21. It's criminal. That's all.

blackjack21 wrote:Meanwhile, Thailand has a new king--considered a living deity in Thailand.
Wow. You really are clueless. That's totally false.

blackjack21 wrote:Godstud makes life choices that seem inconsistent with his political views--which seem focused far more on countries in which he does not live.
My life choices are inconsequential and no worse than yours, and not inconsistent. Of course, you're too ignorant of that for it to matter. You always seem to have to rely on personal attacks. Is it because you hate living in your shit-hole cuntry?

Again, because you have no argument, you seem to think that living somewhere makes you less informed. The typical childish argument. You do realize that when criticize Thailand, you engage in the behavior you accuse me of(onyl you are extremely uninformed).

40 baht will buy you a typical meal in a Thai shop. 40 Baht = @$1.30 USD. Most people in Thailand do not live in cities, btw, and the cost of living is low.

This article, while mildly informative, is really mostly about Bangkok, and isn't completely informative.

You can rent a place for as low as $1,000 baht a month, or about $30 USD, if you're not in Bangkok. In Bangkok, you can rent as low as 3,000 baht. You probably won't get AC for that much, but most Thais don't find it necessary, as they are very acclimatized.

now I want to point out something to god stud. while I did not look it up Ill not deny up to 300,000 underage kids could be at risk to the sex trade in America ill take your word for it and not call you ingorant or a lier like you did me. O by the way I did post a few links about my claims if you like Ill be happy to post more to show Im not making all of this up as you claim.
any way thailand has 800,000 under age kids involved in the sex industry some put there as young as 9 years old by thier own familys.

also the usa has about 350,000,000 residents to thailands 70,000,000 if you do the math you have about 9 times as many children actually involved in the sex trade as we have at risk per population figures.
Im not sure why your comparing the 2 numbers because its not helping prove your point but proves mine
also sir a meal in thailand is pretty cheap no doubt 2.50 it cost more here but if you make 10 bucks a day 2.50 is 1/4 of your wages. for 1 meal.

now your going to pay 6 bucks here for say 2 gyros at arbys but make closer to 90 bucks .thats about min wages here maybe 80 for a 8 hour say.
again your not helping prove your point but are helping prove mine and on that not dood evening sir.

I merely pointed out that most of what you said regarding Thailand was false. I was not wrong.

In fact, much of what you posted, supports what I said:
From your source wrote:4,000 Baht Per Month or Less – For 4,000 baht per month, approximately $135, there are varies options for renting an apartment in Bangkok, Thailand.

Also, when you consider the rent and other things, and the average income, it's not as bad as you'd like to imply. You're not in much of a position to judge, whereas I am. I actually live here and have a business.

Yes, Thailand has a human trafficking problem, like many places in the world. it's not the worst, and it's far from the best.
The trigger wrote:any way thailand has 800,000 under age kids involved in the sex industry some put there as young as 9 years old by thier own familys.
 You're making that up. Your source did not say that. No source says that. It's completely illegal and if caught you can be put away for life, if you even make it to trial.

The source, you posted was also over 20 years old, and Thailand is not the same country it was 20 years ago. It's richer and
there's far less poverty. They have much better healthcare(almost universal). The reasons for this problem are going away, and that has partly to do with the PM that is in exile, yet still loved by most of the people(Thaksin Shiwinatra).

Your source about corruption does not exist, so I assume you just cut an pasted some random sources. I won't deny it's a big problem, but when less than 4% of the country pays taxes, and government wages are so low, it opens the door for corruption at all levels(not just the top, as in Western nations).

The drug problem exists(not IV drug use, mind you), but the HIV part was completely wrong. Thailand is looking at legalizing medical marijuana now, and that's a step towards legalizing marijuana.

The trigger wrote:Im not sure why your comparing the 2 numbers because its not helping prove your point but proves mine
also sir a meal in thailand is pretty cheap no doubt 2.50 it cost more here but if you make 10 bucks a day 2.50 is 1/4 of your wages. for 1 meal.
I am talking a healthy meal that you'd pay about $15 for, in USA. Again, when you compare everything, it becomes far cheaper than in the USA, where in one of USA's largest cities(New York), the average rent is $1,600+ in the Bronx(what percentage of a month's wages is that?). Or $2,000+ in Los Angeles.

The cost of living for most things is substantially lower, in Thailand.

The crime towards tourists, is mostly non-existent except for some rare instances, and even then one of the worst murders was actually perpetrated by foreigners.

If you honestly want to learn about Thailand, then ask some real questions and ignore pre-conceived notions about the place, as they're mostly wrong. I'll tell you the honest truth, and arm you with facts, not fictions.
#15005088
sorry god stud but you should of learned by now calling me a liar and saying I made it us is a making me more credible by the second.
I was really hoping you challenge me again. heres you link. now you have 2 choices apologize to me and admit your very wrong or continue o show us all who is making things up and is ignorant as you said I am.

#15005090
now godstud if the min wage is 10.00 a day and a meal cost 2.50 that's 25 percent of your income that day for a meal in thailand.

seriously its basic math.

in the usa your average is at about 80.00 a day and a medal is 6 to 8 dollars .
about 10 percent or less. you do the math.
#15005092
You do not want to discuss things. All you want is to make accusations and falsehoods, while quoting out of date information or make up outrageous claims about the numbers of underage sex workers in Thailand(from an opinion piece, of all things- Those numbers are bullshit, as there aren't even that many sex workers working in Thailand). UNAIDS in 2015 estimated the total population of sex workers in Thailand to be 147,000.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostitution_in_Thailand

That kind of makes that "800,000" number seem completely bullshit, doesn't it?

I didn't call you a liar. I called you wrong. Deal with it. You chose to ignore everything else I said and are dwelling on the same ignorant(that means lacking knowledge) claims you made before.

Just because it's not America, doesn't mean it's bad. I know a few Americans living here, and they seem to prefer it to USA.

If you just want to cast aspersions, then "troll off".

:peace:
#15005100
sorry god stud but Im not ignorant and find it offensive that you called me that.
I suggest you come to America and go up to A few young able American men and call them ignorant face to face.
it will not generate a response you will enjoy.
Also tell them they are lying again it will generate a highly negative response I assurer you.Now all of a sudden you say I was not making up the facts but the sources were wrong.
Please feel free to post links that show my sources are wrong.I look foward to it and debating the subject .I feel very comfortable that my internet sources are reliable and reasonable accurate, I cant help it if you feel they are wrong and you don't like them. I highly suggest you contact them and tell all of them they are wrong and your right and correct the errors.
I don't make up facts ever but freely admit I occasionally mis read and make a error , im far from perfect.
but as my links on the other thread clearly show Im 99 percent right . I do make a mistake on a name or position held or a few percentage points from time to time due to memory and copious amounts of bourbon from my home state of kentucky

expecially the 800,000 underrage children placed in the sex trade by pimps and the kids own familys.
It happens here in the USA also but nothing like in thailand.

Also you critized Americas drug policys . But dont they kill people in thailand for it.
I see where 80 percent of people in rual thailand have issues with drug use and the drug trade.
I dont doubt that Americans numbers would be about the same but we dont kill people for it.
Seems American policys on the issue is far less extreme then it is there.

I never called you a liar, and if Americans don't know the definition of ignorant, then that's their problem, not mine. You are very ignorant on the topic of Thailand, and that is not meant as an insult, but merely an observation by someone who is very familiar with Thailand... having lived here for 7+ years.

The trigger wrote:I do make a mistake on a name or position held or a few percentage points from time to time due to memory and copious amounts of bourbon from my home state of kentucky
Lay off the booze, a bit. I know it's hard... especially with Kentucky Bourbon. I like it as well.

The trigger wrote:expecially the 800,000 underrage children placed in the sex trade by pimps and the kids own familys.
It happens here in the USA also but nothing like in thailand.
You make a claim of 800,000 child prostitutes in a country where there are only around 150,000 prostitutes(do the math) estimated in 2015. You used an opinion piece as the source, and the person writing it was obviously clueless. Yes, I find that to be obviously a fiction, and completely false.

The trigger wrote:Also you critized Americas drug policys.
No, I did not. You are mistaken.

The trigger wrote:I see where 80 percent of people in rual thailand have issues with drug use and the drug trade.
More false information you seem to have gotten. Where from? I think you are going by very old information, and talking about when the Golden Triangle existed. It no longer exists, except in the history books. People in that region make cash crops that pay more than Opium ever did. The last King of Thailand oversaw that change, and many others.

The trigger wrote:But dont they kill people in thailand for it.
No. That's not true.
https://www.siam-legal.com/litigation/c ... ailand.php

The trigger wrote:I dont doubt that Americans numbers would be about the same but we dont kill people for it.
Seems American policys on the issue is far less extreme then it is there.
They don't kill people for it in Thailand, either. The death penalty is on its way out, too. Only 7 people have been executed since 2003.

Now... back on topic.

I am not a Democrat. :D

Godstud wrote:Wow. You really are clueless. That's totally false.

You mean I read fake news from Reuters? Is Donald Trump right? It's all fake news?

Newly crowned Thai king carried through Bangkok in royal procession
“Long live the king!” shouted well-wishers who lined roads for hours under the blazing sun and well into the night, hoping for a glimpse of the constitutional monarch who is revered in Thai culture as a living deity.

Are you really saying that Reuters is lying to their readership and that Thai people are just pretending to revere the King? Or are you speaking for yourself? You don't consider the king to be a deity...

Why does he make his wife crawl on all fours?

Image
Are you saying this isn't because he's considered a deity, but rather he's just being a total douchebag?

because it kinda seems like people treat him as a deity.

Maybe I'm not clueless. Maybe I just have the wrong clues. Help us out here Godstud.
#15005135
well god stud I hate to do this to you again, but your saying Im wrong and your right.
Seems I have learned more about Thailand in 12 hours then you have in 7 years.

Since 1935 Thailand has executed 326 persons, 319 by shooting (the last was shot on 11 December 2003) and seven by lethal injection (the latest on 18 June 2018). As of March 2018 [update], 510 persons remain on death row. Bang Khwang Central Prison contains the nation's primary death row, but death rows also exist in provincial prisons, for both men and women.

june 2018 is not 2003 and 501 on death row kinds sounds like there are plans.
of course leathal injection is a lot better then being shot or your head cut off .
again your wrong

here is a link I suppose again you will claim its wrong. Imange that as a habit.

Aparenty you are nware what it means to call a person ingorant in America it implys your backward and stupid.
Well you have been there 7 years . ok im sure all the sources I used are wrong again please feel free to post links that are differnt . Ill be waiting.
If you look many of the links I posted are recent so aga8n your wrong and sim

O i forgot god stud im not wrong about 80 percent of rual thiland having a problem with the drug market and addicts .
They want them gone . I think there was a misunderstand as to what I was saying its not old date but 2016 I think .I cant find the link . but it means 80 percent of the rual population are ag8nst drugs.
