Hindsite wrote:Hasn't anyone told you that Santa Claus is made up and does not live at the North Pole and doesn't really have reindeer pulling his sleigh to deliver toys to all the children of the world? That was fake news you were seeing on television about spotting him and his reindeer on radar.

Reindeer really exist, though. Do you not know this?

Reindeer are domesticated caribou. Caribou are migratory animals, and when they are domesticated they physiologically change, or so I understand. The animals that died were maybe actually caribou, I'm thinking. Reindeer are caribou (deer) with reins put on them.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

So Hindsite, you've never eaten reindeer before? I was on a train in Alaska once, and the breakfast menu had reindeer biscuits and gravy. I didn't assume they'd been poached from Santa's herd. Are you just trying to be funny or something?

No, unless you are referring to animal cookies. I've eaten a lot of them when I was a child.

Did you ever see a red-nosed reindeer? My wife does not think I am funny. She gets angry at my jokes.

I've never seen a red-nosed reindeer, no. Come to think of it, I haven't seen any living reindeer in person, so some of them might be red-nosed, I don't know.

That was a decent joke Hindsite, you're okay.

I might say that I'm a working class bloke and was in Alaska on a work trip, not a pleasure trip. I was taking the train to a fishery. I've since referred to the place as 'The Frozen Gulag', because working in a remote fishing camp in Alaska was almost like being a forced laborer in Siberia. Maybe not quite, but close enough.

I'm not a wealthy landlord like Jimjam, afterall. ;)

I guess "wealthy" is relative. Sadly in today's America I may be considered "wealthy" because at age 74 I don't have to bag groceries at the super market. I was actually homeless at one point.

In calculating free money to the fossil fuel billionaires IMF includes the cost of the damage fossil fuel burning causes to climate and health, leading to an estimate of $5.2tn of fossil fuel subsidies in 2017, or $10m a minute. Ending the subsidies would cut global emissions by about a quarter, the IMF estimates, and halve the number of early deaths from fossil fuel air pollution. The IMF is hardly a "liberal" or "socialist" outfit. Did you get that? …… $10,000,000 [b]a minute[/img] in handouts to the fossil fuel boys. Even if they are off by double that's still $5,000,000 a minute. Sounds like "socialism" is just fine as long as billionaires are on the receiving end.

The IMF was founded by a globalist that passed secrets to the Soviet Union.

Oh My! Not sure what that has to do with government subsidies (welefare) for billionaire fossil fuel executives but now let me pretend that I am Blackjack21 or Hindsite :) .

What's wrong with that! America has spent billions of dollars and much time obtaining Russia's military secrets. Stop your whining.

and

Research published this year by the nonprofit First Street Foundation and Columbia University analyzed the effects of tidal flooding caused by sea-level rise on the relative value of coastal residential property in 18 states, from Maine to Texas, between 2005 and 2017. It showed an erosion of $15.9 billion that might have been avoided with less greenhouse gas in the atmosphere.

That is just more left-wing crazy bull-shit.

Evangelical Christians have been praying for the 'end times' for a few centuries.

And the Grand Old Pollution party is happy to deliver the 'end times' to their faithful, suicidal base, including American farmers, whose lobbyists work hard to never mention 'climate change'.

If we don't act responsibly now, we will soon see huge increases in food prices and eventually limits on available food, already a problem in North Africa and Central America. In order to take this problem head on, it is critical that no Republicans be elected in 2020, they are not interested in our well being, only that of the 1%.

Sounds like the coming of the opening of the third seal in Revelation 6:6.

Do you want to know why we're facing a possible spike in pork prices in the coming years? Why else—climate change.

A hot pig is not a fat, happy pig. Scientific American reports scientists have found that hotter weather causes pigs to eat less. It also causes their bodies to switch from making protein to amping up their immune systems. Even if you feed them richer food, they won't process it into muscles we can eat, meaning the hot pigs don't get as big as farmers need them to. Worse yet, heat-stressed sows are less fertile, and they make leaner, smaller piglets that can't store protein as well. The problem gets passed down.

Sounds like Trumpelacticilis 8:4

Don't worry jimjam. Trump is a very stable genius and has convinced the Chinese not to buy American pork. Prices should remain very stable.

I would love it if the biblical apocalypse kicked off. Christians are hoping to get raptured but I want to be front row center for that one. Watching terror stricken chuds get what's coming to them in a final cosmic judgement would be totally worth enduring all the crazy torments of the prophesy.

But they are not. I am a bacon eater and bacon prices have been rising nicely lately.

The climate crisis is causing unprecedented levels of stress and anxiety to people in Greenland who are struggling to reconcile the traumatic impact of global heating with their traditional way of life.

The first ever national survey examining the human impact of the climate emergency, revealed in the Guardian on Monday, shows that more than 90% of islanders interviewed fully accept that the climate crisis is happening, with a further 76% claiming to have personally experienced global heating in their daily lives, from coping with dangerous sea ice journeys to having sled dogs euthanised for economic reasons tied to shorter winters.

The Trump administration on Monday announced that it would change the way the Endangered Species Act is applied, significantly weakening the nation’s bedrock conservation law credited with rescuing the bald eagle, the grizzly bear and the American alligator from extinction.

The changes could clear the way for new mining, oil and gas drilling, and development in areas where protected species live. The new rules will make it harder to consider the effects of climate change on wildlife when deciding whether a given species warrants protection.

Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said in a statement the finalized revisions “fit squarely within the president’s mandate of easing the regulatory burden on the American public, without sacrificing our species’ protection and recovery goals.”

What "regulatory burden" is there on the American public"? Isn't the burden on the wealthy? How much is enough for them? This administration has now made Richard Nixon look like a tree-hugging hippie.

There is no question in my mind that in due time this wonderful God given planet will be transformed into an environment predominantly consisting of large dead areas and massive worldwide starvation ………… our ruling elite of billionaires will continue to have access to ample food supplies while living in armed encampments. Simple greed will cause the collapse of earth's beautiful natural environment to be replaced by burned out depleted areas covered in garbage and pollution but, not to worry ….. Obese Donald will have eased the regularity "burden".

July was the hottest month ever recorded on Earth. This summer hasn't just felt like the hottest ever — it actually has been. July 2019 is now officially the hottest month on record, since record-keeping began 140 years ago.

This is, of course, fake news because Obese Donald does not approve.

July is supposed to be the hottest month of the year and I am sure President Trump does not object. I am fine with it as long as we still have inexpensive power to run our coolers.
