The Democrats have never been any more lax on border security, than the Repbulicans. The "Open borders" shit and other stuff were manufactured, and simply not true. Trump is more anti-immigration, than for fixing illegal immigration problems. The money spent on a wall would be better spent on actual illegal immigration enforcement, in the workplace(if you truly wanted to address the elephant in the room) as so many have already pointed out to you... numerous times.

Nobody wants the police to do the job of ICE, but if there's reason to believe someone is here illegally, the police should be able to ask about immigration status. However, in sanctuary cities, they are barred from doing this. That's beyond fucking stupid. If a cop pulls someone over, and the guy doesn't speak a lick of English, why is it so bad to ask about the guy's immigration status?

There should be no "sanctuary cities". None. Every one of them should have every fucking dime of federal funding cut off until they decide to be Americans first...

Having checked over the study, it looks comprehensive and btw not every statistic favours sanctuary cities, for example the employment-to-population ratio significantly differs wrt 'non core' areas by 5.90% in favour of non sanctuary cities.

However, labour force participation, median household income, poverty, crime rates and several other indices weigh in favour of sanctuary cities.

If someone gets arrested, and they can't speak a lick of English, it should be perfectly permissible for the local police to ascertain their immigration status. They're prohibited from doing that, and that's wrong...
