At this point it looks like I am going to support Trump to the bitter end. He's just the best of the turd options you have at the moment.

If Bernie Sanders gets nominated as the Democrat candidate, I'll reconsider my options depending on his campaign promises and chances of actually winning. But I doubt his nomination.

Pocahontas stole most of crazy Bernie's socialist ideas and is a more energetic candidate than the old fart.
Vote for the Trump of God to keep America great.

At Last! ….. we agree  .

Trump showed a total lack of concern about Alabamians by creating a fake news atmosphere that might have elicited evacuations, unnecessary preparations, uncalled for fear, and extra work for first responders and other officials in fielding phone calls and correcting the fake news from the Oval Office. This was akin to yelling “fire” in a theater.

As usual, Trump should stick to what he knows best, declaring bankruptcy (moral and financial) and leave science and running the government to the adults.

It appeared to me that President Trump was concerned about the safety of the people of Alabama. It is better that they be prepared than to be sorry.

Trump created fake news. That's all he did. He wouldn't admit to his error and simply compounded it by saying the same shit over and over again. He even altered a picture to make him right, when he wasn't.

Trump is without ethics and morality. I am not surprised that people like @Hindsite love this so much. Is this because it their own values?

Anyone with ethics and morality is a better option than Trump. Hell, Michelle Williamson would be better!

The irony of that is that nobody with ethics or morality has been better than Trump on particular issues like court appointments. Christian evangelicals have NEVER had a better friend in the White House than Donald Trump. Clinton, Bush and Obama all promised to move the US Embassy to Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. None did. Yet, Trump did that too. That's the remarkable thing about Trump: he's utterly unvarnished, blunt, sometimes crude, brash--and yet, he's more true to the core issues he campaigns on than most other politicians. That suggests at least some level of integrity. You can say that about people like AOC too. Lots of people hate Dick Cheney, but if you ask him a question on a topic, he gives you a direct answer--you may not like it, but he's pretty direct. Frankly, I'm tired of people with "ethics" and "morality" that ultimately "see the light" and constantly betray the people who put them in office. For as many character flaws as Trump has, he has delivered a lot to the people who put him into office. He's not a movement conservative either. Consequently, it's hard to bash him on issues like the budget when Republicans controlled the House from 2010 to 2018 and let Obama do whatever he wanted. Politicians that want Trump gone only to see voters continue to rally to him have themselves to blame for their infidelity to voters.

Good point but, in view of this consideration, perhaps North Dakota should also have been warned by America's Chief Meteorologist.

Massive gouging of America's medical industry ( trickling down to his less than astute "base") by Big Pharma and the health insurance industry? We are still waiting. Oh! That's right …. the Fat Guy promised to fix that after the next election ….. .

In the meantime his dead beat son in law will bring peace to the Middle East …

He's only been prez for about 2 yrs 9 months.

It usually takes about 4-5 years to really see the impact of any new govt's real policies. He's just riding Bama's 'everything bubble' which is expected to burst anytime now.

The real measurable impact of his policies/talks has actually been pretty negative so far -- according to jpmorgan chase and two other banks, their 'volfefe' index proves that his tweets actually have a negative effect on the stock market. IE he loses money just by squidging his stubby digits on his phone screen, writing scheisse on twatter(!).

He's buggered the Iran deal, he's started more trouble with NK, he's helped cause huger and huger divisions in the EU.

His track record in business is utterly abysmal. His public PR image is same.

All the successes he has had are thanks to other people. There was never a border crisis; but the excellent new Mexican prez has reduced migration and has even driven his country into a current account surplus -- Trump actually has given Mexico money, not the other way round like Trump pledged.

The EU has handed Trump some minute petty victories with food exports, but the huge NATO, defense, trade deal and other questions remain unresolved.

According to a financial analyst at the FT, negative interest rates are an awful idea yet he continues to push for them. He's also encouraging Israel to completely oppress the Palestinians.

He's bad news.

Good post. All true. The problem is that other than Biden, there is still no acceptable candidate on the democrat side for the fly-over states. And the democrats can't win without them.

The irony in all of this is clear when you do a little exercise. Peel out the outrageous lying and classless social gaffs and look at what Trump has actually done. So far he has defended a fairly far right agenda on the economy and immigration and kept the economy perking along. Now couple that with the democratic candidates proposals and you get an interesting juxtaposition that makes Trump look like a lout but one that appeals to Americans center. And remember that America's center is pretty far right at the end of the day.

As an old time republican; one who is a fiscal conservative and social libertarian, I fear another term. I believe the rising deficits, screwed up health care system and the almost certainty of his appointing another repressive supreme court judge does not bode well for our country.

Finally I am putting what Trump is doing in perspective. I look at the UK. It is in complete chaos right now. It is about to fall on its sword over Brexit for absolutely no reason at all except immigration. It is politically paralyzed and why?

I am loathe to say this but deep in the heart of politics is the fact that white, traditional Europeans (on both sides of the ocean) are frightened and nobody, but nobody is talking to them. Except Trump and his doppelganger in England.

Such bullshit.

When things are going good, Trump haters are quick to praise the lasting effects of Obama. But, when something goes awry, those same people will forget how to even say the name "Obama" and place the blame on Trump.

You just can't have it both ways...

He's buggered the Iran deal, he's started more trouble with NK, he's helped cause huger and huger divisions in the EU.

The Iran deal needed buggering. North Korea? He's gotten them to the table, which is a Hell of a lot more than anyone else has done...

His track record in business is utterly abysmal. His public PR image is same.

For that to be an accurate statement, the majority of his businesses would have to fail. That's not even approaching reality...

All the successes he has had are thanks to other people.

Your desire to not give the man any credit whatsoever is pitiful...

There was never a border crisis...

How much time have you spent near the border?

Having lived in San Diego for 30 years, I can tell you that your comment is completely divorced from reality.

This is a real sign:

Image

They line I-5 and I-15 from San Ysidro and San Diego to Los Angeles and Riverside. Why? Because there were so many illegal aliens getting across the border in San Diego and Imperial Counties that it was not uncommon at all for them to get hit and killed when trying to cross southern California freeways. If it was only one or two every few years, they'd have no need for a sign. But, because there are so many illegals, a lot of them were being killed...

but the excellent new Mexican prez has reduced migration and has even driven his country into a current account surplus -- Trump actually has given Mexico money, not the other way round like Trump pledged.

An interesting comment made by the Mexican President to Bloomberg:

"People do not migrate because they want to, they do it because of need. I have a dream that I want to turn into a reality: The day will come during my administration in which Mexicans will not be going to work to the United States anymore because Mexicans will have work and be happy where they were born," he said."

So, you know all of those jobs that idiot libs say Americans won't do? Well, the Mexican President has now taken the position that he doesn't Mexicans doing those jobs, either, and Mexicans currently make up a large segment of that workforce. So, when they stop coming here, because they're happy in Mexico, who's going to do those jobs?

He's bad news.

He's what we need. As has already been mentioned, he stands by his word a Helluva lot more than your garden variety politician...

How do the insane proposals of the left make Trump look like a lout?

It might appear that way for people who don't want to pay for college, or who want the government to give them $1,000 every month, or for someone who thinks a kid should get a trophy for coming in 11th, but not to intelligent, reasonable people who can actually think for themselves...

Such drama.

"Repressive"? What "repressive" judge has Trump appointed?
