Maybe I'm just skeptical of her intentions. For example, most people charged with unlawfully crossing the border never show up to their court dates. Elizabeth Warren thinks it's a better idea to make it a civil penalty and decriminalize the whole thing. That looks like open borders, with a bit of a toll that will never get collected.

Agree or disagree with Gabbard's political leanings, she's likeable. Even people on the right like her. Clinton's not going to endear herself to too many by attacking her.

There isn't a snowflakes chance in hell of that happening.

But while you are wrong, she is trying to deal herself back into the national narrative as an elder in the Dem party.

But she was never politically adroit, and this is likely to be a good example of her political clumsiness. Russia has backed Jill Stein for years, that is well documented. Putin may be shifting to Gabbards, but political attacks are not part of an elder statesmans brief. An elder needs to guide gently, not go on the attack.

In any case, for most people, she's fallen off the radar, and moves like this won't rehabilitate her standing in the party. Unless there this is some sort of game for political insiders, which is a possibility.

In that case, she's angling for an ambassadorship or cabinet position in a Biden presidency.
