Right behind him are the Republicans who allow him to do so without consequence. Trump has hogtied the House and Senate to the point that they appear ineffectual. Actually, they ARE ineffectual.

Though I agree that voting him and his enablers out of office is a solution, I fear we don't have the time. Trump's petulance and ego remain unchecked. He makes us look like stooges as he rips apart all the qualities we thought we stood for.

I think he laughs all the way to the bank as our country continues to line his pockets. Every Trump business has profited from his continued use of his private properties. What's happening to our country is not funny. It's serious.

He's symptomatic of what's been wrong with your country for a ling time.

Really, Putin/MSB, Saud, Israel/IDF/Israeli oligarcs nd the Koch Bros/US oligarcs et al just exploited an open weakness in the US political system; money & greed, people's base level instincts.

The US system is deliberately designed to allow powerful executive privilege with multiple ways to override the judiciary and the houses. That's why you're in this mess.

Our system is similarly flawed and well, look what Boris Karloff has just done? He can simply ignore the houses and the judiciary too..

He'll just prorogue a second time, or simply wait til Oct 14th to recall parliament; meaning we'll miss the deadline if you factor in GE timings (2 week delay).

Please cite some examples.

I seem to recall, in our not-too-distant past a Secretary of State, who had aspirations of winning the Presidency, who violated her oath of office and the Espionage Act by having an unsecure server in her home and using it to conduct official business. Even the Director of the FBI said what she did was illegal.

So, excuse me if I find your criticism of Trump in this regard... silly...

I want him to rip apart the qualities that Democrats thought they stood for.

The Democratic nominee will lose in 2020. But that's okay, in 2024, when Trump won't be able to run because of term limits, you can say he was"dumped"...

Every Trump business has profited from his continued use of his private properties.

Then why does listening to you whine make us laugh?

Why should we think you know what you are talking about when you don't even know the name of your own Prime Minister? By the way, the name is Johnson, not Karloff.

Donald Trump’s first defense secretary, Gen James Mattis, has finally spoken out in public over his former boss, depicting the president as a lazy draft dodger – but only in the form of jokes. “I earned my spurs on the battlefield; Donald Trump earned his spurs in a letter from a doctor,” Mattis said.

Growing up in the aftermath of WWII, I often wondered how the good people of Germany could have let that happen. Now, we're watching it in real time.

Maybe, General Mattis can start another career as a professional comedian. I wish him luck.

You spent 20 years in the army and call one of our greatest 4 star generals a comedian just because your boy Sergeant Bone Spurs has dumped him! Shame on you but, then, maybe you were a 6 star general …………

President Trump did not dump General Mattis, because he resigned on his own. I was just admiring General Mattis for his funny joke.

Sounds like a dump to me.....

Trump described former Defense Secretary James Mattis as “the world’s most overrated general”.

Trump sounds off on former Secretary of Defense James Mattis, claiming he "essentially fired" the retired general, who resigned in protest after Trump announced his decision to pull US troops out of Syria.

Trump blasts Mattis: What's he done for me?

Everyone should know by now that when Trump is criticized, he hits back. If General Mattis were to praise him, then Mattis would be the greatest general again. General Mattis is a tough guy and has worked for President Trump long enough to know that and should not be offended by a few unflattering words said in combat over egos. It is simply amusing to the rest of us.

Some of us are not amused when the man with his finger on the button behaves like a 6 year old. Not at all.

Yep. They were afraid of communism. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren would have been scary back then too.

Bullshit. FDR was way left of either Warren or Sanders. Merkel is left of both of them too. Germany already has the social programs and worker protections that Warren and Sanders are proposing.

Of course you know this but thanks for the Sunday troll to get me going.

After WW2, in Europe, what didn't get national health care, got nearly universal health coverage with clever plans. You can extrapolate that to cover the rest of what they say.

I'm not a socialist. As such, I do not see a moral issue with universal health care coverage, which is something of an article of religious faith on the political left. I see things in economic terms. Universal coverage is facing a crisis, just like universal retirement supplements, because the West has shrinking populations. Even China faces a shrinking population. There isn't a sufficient tax basis to support these systems long term without Draconian measures--save finding ways to provide care at lower cost, which the medical cartel currently opposes in the West as it has many of the elements of a mafia.

Indeed. He terrifies them now. However, Europeans do not have a strong desire to be free. They prefer security. They also prefer Americans to pay for their territorial security, rather than fielding militaries of their own and dispensing with self-serving virtue signalling.

Freedom is unstable, and promotes criminal opportunities to potential criminals. Security makes me psychologically feel stable, and doesn't let me worry about people who can do whatever they want to me.

Who has the most expensive in the world? Try a mirror.

There's your economics, and since you're already in the bathroom, you know where to leave them.

You could get basically the same health outcomes for half what we spend. I'm not suggesting that, but I am suggesting we stop being so f***ing stupid.

If you look at spending since WW2, our wealth went on the empire. Social spending didn't amount to much before the 80s.

It's a question of whether we want to turn more brown people into mist, or do the things the country needs doing..

While I'm not a fan of the plans Dems are bandying at the moment, most would be a small improvement at the least. We don't seem to be able to do real reform anymore.

Here's what a Nobel economist has to say about it (and please don't say it's not actually a Nobel. We know.)
