Islam erased Persian civilization, as it has erased all civilizations it has gained political power over, and no Muslim country is capable of developing its own technology. Islam is in terminal conflict with science and modernity, a conflict it is absolutely certain to lose. The only question is how many people it will kill before it dies.

Not quite.

I am instead claiming that capitalism is inherently incapable of solving climate change.

Socialism will not magically cause us to stop polluting if we adopt it, but it will give us the tools we need to solve the problem.

Would socialism have prevented the Medieval Warm Period or the Little Ice Age? Inquiring minds want to know.

This is a bad comparison, since these two events were natural while modern warming is anthropogenic.

I think Iranians are as smart as people in the West. That is a condescending view.

Certainly. But the West's culture is incomparably smarter than Islam.
That is a condescending view.

In the decade after the Muslim "schools" began operating in Kuwait, IQ scores actually went down. IOW, not having any school at all was better for their minds than Muslim "education," which consists almost exclusively of learning about and memorizing the Qu'ran.

As are all other economic systems, given the fact that climate change is not a problem susceptible of solution.
Socialism will not magically cause us to stop polluting if we adopt it, but it will give us the tools we need to solve the problem.

So far, pollution has been uniformly worse in socialist societies than in advanced capitalist ones.

   Two fallacies -- question begging and post hoc -- in one sentence!

Only if the property is rightfully owned, and not itself the fruits of authoritarian violence, such as slaves, land titles, IP monopolies, bank licenses, etc.
What would you do with the unemployed miners? They are simple people and not exactly nuclear engineers.

They will be fine if their rights to liberty, which were forcibly removed and given as the private property of landowners and other privileged interests, are restored or justly compensated.

Faced with growing public concern over the proliferation of single-use plastic, Burger King has vowed to stop giving away plastic toys with children’s meals in Britain and has encouraged customers to deposit old toys in collection bins at the chain’s locations there. It’s part of a growing public backlash against single-use, disposable plastic items like straws and cups, as well as myriad other plastic objects piling up in landfills, littering beaches and floating in oceans.

The only exception is the dispensing of plastic syringes to drug addicts. These syringes are everywhere in San Francisco. I bet the bottom of the bay is full of plastic syringes.

It's revealing that you consider self-evident justice in taxation and land tenure "weird."
Do you have an argument about climate change?

What's really weird is this notion that to the modest extent climate has warmed, and might continue to warm, it could in any sense be considered an "apocalypse."

This is not an argument about climate change.

It is a not very subtle way of labeling people as hysterical and delusional if they disagree with you.

If you do not have an argument about climate change, there is no reason to quote me or be in this thread.

Yes it is.

No. It is a direct way of stating the fact that they ARE hysterical and delusional if they really believe that the derisory warming that could be caused by CO2 emissions from fossil fuel consumption could in any way be described as an "apocalypse."
If you do not have an argument about climate change, there is no reason to quote me or be in this thread.

See above.

Facts that support a claim are arguments whether you consent to know them or not.
Stop quoting me unless you have an actual argument.

I will continue to quote you as and when I please. If you don't think I have an argument, explain why. Or put me on Ignore.

Capitalism can be made to tackle climate change by putting restrictions on what can be sold, its actually very impressive how quickly companies adapt and come to market with new devices that meet the criteria set.

This isn't by accident, these companies have been storing up patents for years to stop rivals releasing improvements, whilst also holding them back until they need to boost market share.

When they can't meet a demand they cheat ( VW diesel cheat device).

It is only by controlling and pushing the market to improve that capitalism actually meets the demands of the people rather than just the demands of its shareholders.

The push from the EU countries on carbon caps and energy restrictions on devices has led to a big shift and has helped us get to where we are, renewable energy that is competitive with fossil fuels and car manufacturers jumping on the electric vehicle bandwagon.

You just vaguely alluded to someone or something who supposedly said something that may have included the word “apocalypse”

See the title of this thread, child.
and then used that to tar everyone who disagrees with you about anthropogenic climate change.

That is a bald falsehood. There is lots of room for honest disagreement about various aspects of climate change. My comment was specifically directed at hysterical and delusional apocalypse-mongers.
