Well, looks like Nike is making a fortune off Colin Kaepernick. They sold out of their Air Force 1 sneakers. They even have the date he stopped standing for the national anthem on each sneaker.

Whether you stand or kneel in them, a pair of Air Force 1 sneakers that Nike made in collaboration with Colin Kaepernick hit the market on Monday. But you're out of luck if you're trying to order through Nike's website or through the company's SNKRS app, because the shoes quickly sold out online. You may be in luck if stores near you have them in stock, though.

While Nike is a major partner of the NFL, the brand made the 32-year-old activist the face of an ad campaign for the company's 30th anniversary last year, despite the fact that Kaepernick has not played a snap in the NFL since 2016. "Nike partnered with a collective of collaborators to design an AF1 that connects to their life personally," a Nike spokesperson tells CNN. "Colin was identified because we believe his voice and perspective inspire many generations on and off the field."

The sneaker also has a not-so-subtle message with the date "08 14 16" on the sole of the right shoe, a Nike spokesman confirmed to CNN. The date marks the first time Kaepernick didn't stand during the playing of the national anthem, during a preseason game between the Houston Texans and San Francisco 49ers. He sat on the bench during the performance before that game, and first knelt during the national anthem on September 1, 2016

On the shelves in their shoe department there were dozens and dozens of Nike footwear. I mentioned it to a clerk and he said that ever since Nike nixed the shoes with the Betsy Ross flag, Nike donations have skyrocketed. The downside, he said, is that nobody wants to buy Nike shoes...

They seem to be buying plenty of the brand new ones right now. Let me guess, it was probably mostly WHITE people who turned in their Nike shoes, but it didn't do anything to dent the sales of Nike. Nike don't make money off sales at Goodwill anyway. I guess white people will just have to SUCK IT UP and DEAL WITH IT much like black people had to DEAL with the confederate statues being shoved in their faces down south to remind them that white folks were still in charge.

I can only surmize that it's probably white people turning in their shoes. It's probably mostly Trump supporting white people turning in their shoes but their lack of support for Nike is not enough to dent their sales.
