There were laws passed after Watergate, but the Republicans would have to have some concern for the country.

It's blindingly obvious they don't. They are selling the country down the river, they can barely keep the lights turned on, and just about all they do is lie.

I am a Christian who also believes in the ideas of the U.S. Constitution. I voted for President Trump over the corrupt Hillary Clinton. I don't consider President Trump a piece of shit. I believe he has been a good President for our country, even with the obstructions from the Democrats. Therefore, I plan to vote for President Trump again in November.
Praise the Lord.

Historically, the country has seen far worse. As I said, Thomas Jefferson owned his own children with Sally Hemmings as slaves. Yet, he wrote the Declaration of Independence, so the "woke" folks will compare him favorably to Trump, because Trump isn't for political correctness. Martin Van Buren was known as "Blue Whiskey Van," because he was constantly drunk. Franklin Pierce, James Buchannan, Andrew Johnson, Ulysses Grant, and Chester Arthur were drunks too.

Uh, in case you haven't noticed, the Democrats are doing the same thing. NAFTA and GATT were passed by Bill Clinton and a Republican Congress. That's why Trump attacks both parties to the relish of his supporters.

Rugoz wrote:Needless to say, if a democratic president did the same, you would be up in arms over it. There's no point in debating hypocrites.

They already did do the same thing. Obama did have meetings about digging up dirt on Trump in the White House. Obama even radically expanded the sharing of classified information in the last few months of his presidency so that his political actors could attack Trump. That's why there were people like Samantha Power and Susan Rice making requests for unmasking. Hillary Clinton and the DNC financed the Steele dossier gathering information from Russians via a former MI-6 spy, laundered it through the FBI to get warrants to spy on the Trump campaign--the applications to the FISC being fraudulent and thus unlawful. Obama will never be prosecuted for this, but some of his underlings may face criminal prosecution. Hillary Clinton, however, will not be prosecuted even though she kicked off and financed the dossier project.

A president facing a coup from such a cabal is certainly going to look into his political opponents and any unlawful activity they may have engaged in. Doing anything less would be absurdly naive.

It's telling that every time you're backed into a corner you come up with conspiracy theories made up by the con man in chief himself.

So, Bolton has turned against Trump?

Will the GOP senators suppress witness testimony of the former national security adviser?

Looks like they are between a rock and a hard place. If they turn against Trump, they are dead politically, if they don't the GOP is dead politically.

Good riddance, if you ask me. :D

The latter is probably wishful thinking, considering how Trump supporters on PoFo (okay this time me excluded) think.

Naah, don't you worry about that. They are frail creatures who shun the day of light, they'll crawl back into their holes once the wind turns. :D

1) Trump is dead last in polls of historians for good reason. He is, by far, the worst president in American history, and we've had some real stinkers.

2) I like to say that if George Washington was the father of country, Jefferson was the mother. His ideas and ideals have played a huge role in our history. Not only do you not know the history of the country, you don't understand it.

3) The only person in American history that comes close is Benedict Arnold. Trump is worse, which is why historians say he's the worst.

4) Trump attacks everyone but Putin. Which tells us a lot. He does it to weaken everyone, to make them less able to challenge his power grab. It's the standard dictator playbook.

I have a good friend who lives in Montreal. Frank Marino was the leader of the rock band Mahogany Rush in the 1970's and, during a tour in Mexico, he discovered "Mexican Coke" and fell in love with it.

Now, some 40 years later, he still drinks the stuff. But he won't drink it unless it's past its "Best if used by date" by about a year. I have to admit, it's pretty damn good, and a lot better than the Coke we get here in the States.

I initially thought it was just some quirky rock star thing, but it's not. It's really good.

Polls can be massaged to serve any end. I don't put much faith in them.

How do you reach such a conclusion?

To say Donald Trump is worse than Benedict Arnold is to say that you don't know anything about Benedict Arnold.

There is a criminal investigation into the matter. Conspiracies are a legal matter, they are real, and conspiracies are felonies I would add.

That's a surprise to you? Bolton is an arch neocon, and Biden is the last neocon standing.

Why is this a surprise to anyone? The prime movers hear are Adam Schiff, Jerry Nadler and Chuck Schumer--all left-of-center Jews. This is what they do on a regular basis.

Anyone can bribe "historians" to say nasty things about the president.

Keeping your own kids as your slaves until you die is way cool. We should admire that.

Why do you think Benedict Arnold was bad? He betrayed the British Empire, but then made peace with them. Are you for overthrowing establishments or preserving them?

I thought they were all left-of-center liberals.

What does their religious faith have to do with anything?

Yea add that bombshell, smoking gun, breaking news to the garbage heap. NYT ? I can't think one smoking gun that been true in the last 3 years. Kool Aid is powerful drink. The GOP isn't dead we have learned that the Democrats and their leaders the media are all bluff. Who cares what the Dems or media think the GOP has the leverage.

That is ridiculously dumb.

Slavery existed for thousands of years before Jefferson. Part of what ended were the ideals of freedom he espoused. As is always the case, you are in way over your head.

I'm for preserving the Republic. You want to destroy it. Benedict Arnold sold out, same as Trump.

I'd feel better if he wasn't in Putin's pocket.

What does religion have to do with it? I don't really know. I would assume ethnicity as much as religion. It is statistically significant however.

The neoconservative/neoliberal cabal was originally primarily Jewish. Irving Kristol, Norman Podhoretz, etc. were the founders of what became the "neoconservatives." Their sons Bill Kristol and John Podhoretz were prominent neoconservative pundits. The neoconservatives were basically Trotskyists said to have been "mugged by reality." When I was a Republican and supported George W. Bush, I often debated liberals who tried to appeal to me and undermine my support for Bush via racism by constantly pointing out that the neoconservatives around Bush were Jewish. Their thinking was I would decide not to support Bush, because they somehow theorized I was anti-Semitic. In the end, I did end up abandoning Bush and the Republican party, but the straw that broke the camel's back for me was immigration and border security (which makes leftists assume you hate Hispanics for some reason). The flip side of the neoconservatives is the neoliberals. Similar group of people such as Al From. The DLC that brought Bill Clinton to power was influenced by them.

I strongly disliked the constant lying by Bill Clinton and those around him during his administration--and I generally dislike treachery. When Bush became president, I was an ardent supporter at first, but disliked many of the things he was doing--prescription drug coverage for Medicare with no price controls, etc. With a background working in radio frequency engineering, I took a very dim view to the government's "airplane mode" for phones, because they kept lying and saying that cell phones would interfere with the plane's electronics. I find that sort of thing intolerable, and begun questioning the people around Bush. At any rate, around 2006 when people like me quit supporting the Republicans, the Republicans lost both houses of Congress. We later supported the Republicans in 2010 to thwart Obama as the "Tea Party."" That label has waned, but the people are the same and still committed to undermining the neoconservative/neoliberal cabal many of us used to support.

One product of that political awakening is that I'm very suspicious of "bi-partisan" anything.

People like Chuck Schumer actually helped Republicans like Thad Cochran get re-elected to thwart the Tea Party challengers. As we were trying to winnow out RINOs, it became obvious that many of them were Jews. Arlen Specter was a fine example. He ended up returning to the Democratic party where he belonged. Eric Cantor got primaried and lost as well--not because he was Jewish, but because he was pretty much always on the Democrat's side on key issues to the Republican base.

About 80% of American Jews are left-of-center, but not all though. Think Henry Kissinger for example. Ben Shapiro, Dennis Prager, and Elliot Abrams all tend to be more conservative or right-of-center.

John Bolton, I believe, is a Lutheran. However, his career is noted for his neoconservative views, writing for the Weekly Standard, etc.

Well, Trump's defense has laid the groundwork for witnesses if the Democrats want them. I can't for the life of me figure on why they want to bring up Hunter Biden, Joe Biden and all the Obama admin personnel that warned about this obvious conflict of interest.

Political factions pay for favorable press. It's called public relations or PR. Getting referent or expert authorities to tout their position is a common theme among politicians.

late wrote:Slavery existed for thousands of years before Jefferson.

We're all aware of that @late. Since we're in woke culture now, we should all be rejecting Jefferson because he held his children as slaves--setting them free only after he died. What a guy!

late wrote:I'm for preserving the Republic. You want to destroy it.

I want to destroy the establishment, which is a little different.

late wrote:Benedict Arnold sold out, same as Trump.

There was no Republic at the time. He lost faith in the struggle and reverted back to the British side.

late wrote:I'd feel better if he wasn't in Putin's pocket.

Rest easy then. He's not.

Radio Free Europe full Interview With U.S. National-Security Adviser John Bolton On Iran, Ukraine, and Russia by Olena Removska on August 27 in Kyiv.

Video of a Radio Free Europe interview with then-National Security Adviser John Bolton describing President Trump's call with Ukraine President Zelensky as cordial.

"I will be meeting President Zelensky. He and President Trump have already spoken twice. The president called to congratulate President Zelensky on his election and on his success in the parliamentary election," Bolton said in August 2019.

"They were very warm and cordial calls," Bolton said. "We’re hoping they’ll be able to meet in Warsaw for a few minutes together, because the success of Ukraine, maintaining its free, its system of representative government, a free-market economy, a free of corruption, and dealing with the problems of the Danbass in the Crimea are high priorities here, obviously, but high priorities for the United States, as well."

Blackjack is a huge bigot who has been repeatedly carded for posting black murder porn and attempting to derail discussions into debates over black crime.

Like many Boomers he also watches YouTube conspiracy videos. Expect to see him posting Q talking points verbatim by the end of the year.
