To put a finer point on it, this is how New York City disposes of its poor, alone and marginalized.

Nice catch BJ Yea no shit liberals never take responsibility for any of their actions.

Must be kidding.

Hence, the "finer point" comment. The United States is part of the world, which is part of the solar system. We could generalize forever. You'll notice Iran also has mass graves, China cremates the bodies and also has mass graves, and Italy has churches full of caskets with dead people in them. That's not unusual in a pandemic.

Or we can just be sensible and keep it in the context of human society and history.

What's interesting about the Hart Island mass grave is that it's nothing new, for 150 years poor people were dumped there like garbage.

What would you suggest. Leave the bodies to rot in the streets?

Don't a lot of conservatives claim a lot of these people were in desperate situations because they made poor personal decisions and should take personal responsibility for their own misfortune?

Well, it is a little bit late for them to take responsibility now. So are you saying that if they had only worked a bit harder that they could have had a nice big tomb all to themselves?

It is better than commie mass graves. They just dig a trench and throw the bodies in.

But what should the commie position be? Surely this mass grave on Hart Island would be the approved commie method. After all, why should some people get expensive tombs and others do not. Everyone should be treated equally and get a plain coffin and share a collective grave. Right?

So instead of arguing that this is evidence of the poor being treated badly, you should argue that the rich should be going in there too.

Oh no! The rolling eyes of condescension!

Look, @Donna, fair enough. Mass graves are after all, a communist specialty. Who am I, someone who is not a communist, to question your superior understanding of mass graves?

Henceforth, when it comes to subjects such as mass killings, mass graves, extermination of any political opposition, the surveillance state, screwing up agricultural production such that mass starvation ensures, and so forth, I will defer to your better judgement.
