I was really impressed with these guys on the submarine. It's amazing the amount of brainpower and education even the lowest enlisted man on the submarine must have. You can also see that the U.S. Navy is VERY selective in who they put in these submarines not just for their technical skills but also loyalty to the U.S. given the amount of trust that is placed on these submariners while they are operating out in the ocean where they can't communicate back to the U.S. for periods of time (though the video states they can receive communications from the US). These submariners are very loyal, professional and technically skilled and it's an important job:

How fiendishly brilliant. Here's a truly lovely and apropos song to accompany the above video:

Whatever you think of President Jimmy Carter, his naval career demonstrated his brainpower and education.

Per Wikipedia:

In 1948, he began officers' training for submarine duty and served aboard USS Pomfret. He was promoted to lieutenant junior grade in 1949. In 1951 he became attached to the diesel/electric USS K-1, (a.k.a. USS Barracuda), qualified for command, and served in several duties including Executive Officer.

In 1952, Carter began an association with the US Navy's fledgling nuclear submarine program, then led by Captain Hyman G. Rickover. Rickover's demands on his men and machines were legendary, and Carter later said that, next to his parents, Rickover was the greatest influence on his life.

Former US President Jimmy Carter started no mass-murderous wars of aggression based upon lies, unlike those perfidious scoundrels George H. W. Bush and his delinquent son. Indeed, Carter started no wars. Which is why Carter received no upsetting envelope within the fold of his program at Bush, Sr.'s post-[...] cathedral memorial service. Although Carter's nonetheless a bit of a dim-bulb regarding his lack of discernment in uncleverly surrounding himself with wolves, both within his former presidential administration and otherwise.
