Michael Rubin: “Turkey today is to radical Islamism what Saudi Arabia was in the 20th century” - Page 2 - Politics Forum.org | PoFo

Wandering the information superhighway, he came upon the last refuge of civilization, PoFo, the only forum on the internet ...

Ongoing wars and conflict resolution, international agreements or lack thereof. Nationhood, secessionist movements, national 'home' government versus internationalist trends and globalisation.

Like imagine you're with a child. For some reason that child just persists on punching you.
You throw the child of a bridge XD then he comes back, you smash him with your car, he still comes back. After 200 years of doing the same at one point you have to realise you are actually the grown up who has to think something grown up to both make the child stay silent and stop annoying you, but at the same time doesn't cost you anything meaningful

Hellas me ponas wrote:It's a civilian ship, not a warship. Greek merchant maritime ships embark in Turkey all the time.

Remember when I mentioned childish approach earlier? That's exactly what I meant, the problem won't be solv

It's a prospecting ship. Prospecting is something you do inside your own sovereign territory, if we escort a prospecting Turkish ship while it is prospecting Greek waters we automatically hand over that territory that has been prospected to Turkey. If the ship is not prospecting(and it's cables are retracted) then it can come inside Greek(or anyone's) waters anyway without us escorting it as all commercial ships have free passage.

Your argument is silly. Besides the ship has been removed for months now anyway making your argument even more silly.

Special deals can be made ughhh.
Yes prospect ship, so what? We can let them research only if we escort and share their research with us. Simple.
Special conditions. Written deals approved by un etc. Like there are ways of making it happen and make it seem like a Turkish victory while in rwlaity it is just horseshit

You 're saying you want to give the Turks a victory to prospect your own waters while:

1) you have successfully rebuffed them on the ground
2) they are nowhere to be seen
3) sanctions have been activated against them for trying to prospect your waters
4) more sanctions will be activated should they ever return

And you want us Greeks to invite them back into our waters and also escort them while prospecting our waters, so that we can prop Erdogan and keep him in power.

And you are arguing this because you(a Greco-Turkish person) want "what's best for Greece".

Well, brother, in 4 months I'll be joining Euelpidwn  so please don't question my loyalty to the motherland.
My real opinion is thst we take the matter too light and we should just sink it immidiately. As well as the fighters entering our airspace should be shot down at once.
That's my opinion.

All I'm trying to do is argue about a way both sides can win without blood spilled.
Because we've suffered from this feud for generations and if we keep going like that, we will suffer greatly again

Look mate, I have heard everything in this forum, I don't care what people say about themselves. You claim you will join the Greek officer army, who cares if you do or you don't.

Your argument is silly in my opinion and I explained to you why.

Agreed just don't insult me. I try to always keep calm when we debate. You don't have to attack my allegiance though...

You said that Greece should let Turkey prospect Greek waters so that Erdogan can stay in power.

For you Erdogan in power is more important that the integrity of Greek territory.

I'm sorry for thinking out loud what I'm already thinking. Can't help my honesty.

Yes under special conditions. That's the whole point...
Nevermind, probably I can't express my self
Efficiently.
Goodnight lad

When I am tlaking about the long term, I really mean the longterm mate...

Edit: It's not about who's going to seem strong and integral. It's about who will flourish the longterm game.
It's a fact that turkey is slowly descenting to destruction.
Greece should either take advantage of it by being full on aggressive and speeding up this descendence. Or slow it down so it won't be that much destructive.
Get it?
