MONTREAL -- Quebec Premier François Legault says the revelations that Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau wanted to punish citizens for voting for the Parti Quebecois in 1976 are "very worrying."

Current Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, son of Pierre Trudeau, has refused to comment on the allegations against his father.

American diplomatic documents suggest that Pierre Trudeau wanted to increase unemployment in Quebec to 15 per cent, even 20 per cent, in order to harm the independence movement.

These accounts of the then-American ambassador to Ottawa were recently revealed by American officials in Washington.

They suggest that Trudeau wanted the Power Corporation of Canada empire to redirect its activities and investments to be outside of Quebec....

An interesting wikileaks type of story is developing regarding Justin Trudeau's father - former prime minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau. A recently unearthed exchange between himself and a USA diplomat suggest that, after the PQ independence party was elected in Québec in 1976, the prime minister asked business leaders to dis-invest in Québec in order to drive unemployment (and misery) through the roof.

If this is true, he was actively supporting other people's pain in order to help his royal friends. "The separatists" were his signature witch-to-burn.

If this is true, it also demonstrates how fake our "meritocracy" really is, if powerful actors can just move business from one place to another for reasons OTHER THAN economic ones. This is category-killer behavior.

(this story is much more developed in French media, for obvious reasons)

Discrediting the younger Trudeau who is currently in power?

I asked myself the same question, along with whether these allegations are true or not.

It's likely that a political competitor did some hacking (or some lying).

Another possiblity is that the statute of limitations on something expired.

And one final possibility is that this is a fake story spread by the Liberal Party themselves in order to discredit any REAL criticism about the Pierre Trudeau regime and their too-close relationship to private banksters.
