@Heisenberg

You're not a German? You a Brit?

@B0ycey @Heisenberg

It was a conspiracy theory quip? I didn't know. I haven't been paying attention to the conspiracy theory section.

I'm as British as crooked teeth and poorly seasoned, boiled food. :D (I chose my PoFo username because I signed up just after binge-watching Breaking Bad)

I got pfizer in January and Feburary 2021. Roll out was excellent in my little county in fact.

I haven't had the opportunity afforded for me to be vaccinated yet , as my parents , with whom I still live , and depend upon for transportation , have refused to allow me . I am hoping though , that once the oral vaccines are rolled out I can convince them to give their approval , especially since more people will be willing to accept an oral vaccine , as there are no needles involved , and there are not the potential for side effects that the injections slightly have . https://finance.yahoo.com/news/poll-oral-covid-19-vaccine-120000541.html , https://www.verywellhealth.com/novavax-vaccine-side-effects-5192068 In particular , my family has been concerned over these two reported cases they've heard about . https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/did-pfizer-biontech-covid-19-vaccine-cause-fatal-case-of-itp/ , https://www.ibtimes.com/possible-covid-19-vaccine-side-effect-could-be-mistaken-heart-attack-3189348 In the meantime , I just feel somewhat fortunate that in 2015 I managed to receive a tetanus vaccine injection , and then a few years later came down with a severe sore throat , that I tend to believe might have been caused by a coronavirus responsible for the common cold . Both of these together should afford me some cross protection , I expect . https://www.theolivepress.es/spain-news/2020/11/02/tetanus-vaccine-could-be-the-solution-to-covid-19-spanish-researcher-reveals/ , https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/news/story/can-the-common-cold-help-protect-you-from-covid-19 , https://medicalxpress.com/news/2020-08-coronavirus-common-cold-covid.html The best that I can do for now is just to wait , and hope for the best .

@JohnRawls Thailand's rise in Covid-19 infections was due to the government relaxing all lockdown rules and the festival of Songkran in April, which they allowed to happen, and spread Covid all over the country.

The government still will not return to lockdown measures from a year ago, even when infection rates are 10x or more, higher. last year at this time we were only starting to open up after 3 months of curfews, regulations and lockdowns(which worked).

Thais are even annoyed with their PM over this. I had a good conversation with a Thai, yesterday. He was really spiteful about the useless PM doing nothing to protect Thais.

The vaccine program is far too slow here, as well. I am glad that my wife, who is young, but has Thalassemia, got vaccinated.

That is my point, lockdowns will never end without the vaccine. There is only 1 country that somehow has 1-10 cases per day without any lockdowns and that is China. But lockdown after lockdown and so on Covid comes back. Vaccine is the only choice.

TLDR: Lockdown is a temporary measure to slow down covid spread but it is useless as a long term solution. China is simply lying about its numbers so taking them as an example in bonkers. It is the same lie that they administered 1 billion doses in a month. European and US systems who are even more heavily funded and have more infrastructure took 6-7 months to reach those numbers on per capita basis which is not logical. This is not simply a question of production but also distribution, logistics, storage, manpower and so on and so forth.

I got my COVID-19 vaccine months ago. I had a few people act like I was too fearful of COVID for having done so, one of those people didn't believe in masks either. Now they're dead.

@JohnRawls I have a friend in Ningbo who was vaccinated in March. I am pretty sure the CCP are just saying a billion now, so that they don't look bad for giving the vaccines before the WHO approved them in May.

@Saeko ;

Something to consider. These vaccines look to be the safest vaccines in the history of vaccines, which is already pretty safe historically speaking.

No one has shared their private medical history, here, @Igor Antunov . Are you speaking about your dementia? :D

Vaccination records are private medical history.

You're choosing to make it public and breach your doctor patient privilege, as that is your right.

I'm not judging you, but if I get vaccinated, it is my choice if I tell you or not.
#15182811
:roll: Getting a vaccine, during a pandemic is hardly "private medical history". That's like saying that you telling us you broke your arm is "private medical history".

It is your choice to tell me or not, but it's not a medical history. You're only telling me you got vaccinated.
#15182812
Dude, it's your vaccination medical history and held by the government health authorities.

You have the right to waiver your right to privacy. No one is judging you.
