So let me illustrate the so called 'lockdown' in australia.

A bunch of kids from western sydney get in their car and drive north 2 hours into my suburb, where they proceed to have a party on the beach and now the entire hunter is in 'lockdown.' So now I'm being called by 5+ security companies, had to dust my license off and go man a covid testing site. I'll be working 30+ hours in the next 3 days.

There you go, very effective lockdown, all the kings police and all the kings army couldn't keep a bunch of teenagers from driving wherever the hell they please. Lockdown means road blockades and checking ID of cunts in cars, not just recording number plates as they drive past...something physical in the realm of stopping movement has to happen. Not just muh rules and regulations and cameras but actual physical barriers....pathetic.

This week was brutal. The largest number of COVID patients in my hospital since last thanksgiving. My rounding list had 30%+ of covid patients, I had over 10+ covid patients in the week.
Only one of my patients has had the vaccine before, the gentleman has all possible risks factors for severe disease that you can think off, obesity, HTN, DM, lung disease, you name it he has it. Yet he is doing reasonably well, just slightly hypoxic but improving. One hundred percent of my patients with covid that are in the ICU, 100% are unvaccinated. I had a death earlier in the week, guess what... unfuckingvaccinated.
This means, that this poor person might have had a chance to be alive right now if 3 months ago had taken the vaccine. Maybe not, but maybe yes. There is also a high likelyhood that the family member or friend that potentially gave this patient the virus, was also unvaccinated, again, maybe not but odds favor this. The patient was not super old either, the patient was on his mid 50's.
This patient died alone in the ICU. The patient did not see family for over a week. The patient died in a cold room, connected to a dozen machines, with a dozen different tubes and IVs everywhere. The family didn't get to say goodbye, the family didn't see the patient, the family didn't get to visit the room where he died. They saw how their loved one walked into the hospital, they saw how their loved one got shipped inside a box to a funeral home.
If the small but real percentage of this happening to your family members and/or yourself is not worth 2x fucking tiny quick pricks... then you are merely a coward.
