The idea that survival of humanity "doesn't matter" because the earth will end at some point in the future... is very nihilistic.
It's like saying that there's no point in installing fire detectors or repairing a leaky roof because... houses are only built to last max 200 years. So let's just keep partying and selling off pieces of the house for beer money?
