Any sort of democratic system presupposes the existence of internal divisions and conflicts within society. Otherwise, why would you need it? If everyone agreed with each other, then politics as we currently understand it wouldn't exist; there would just be something which we would perceive as a "benign dictatorship".

You are more right than you know.

The Founding Fathers did not want political parties, we were supposed to be one big, happy, family. But infighting broke out quickly, between Hamilton and Jefferson.

This evolved into the 2 party system we have.

Indeed. The Founding Fathers were being rather naive (or, to be more precise, undialectical) in their political thinking. Many of them seemed to actually believe that once the British had been kicked out, then everything would settle down and everyone would contentedly co-exist with each other and they would all live happily ever after. Of course, this naivete didn't survive its first encounter with reality, Shay's Rebellion.

Actually, the infighting between Hamilton and Jefferson was furious, and eventually got Hamilton fired.

Shays Rebellion is one of the fave moments in American history, because it is so illustrative, but I'm tired, so maybe some other time.

If you scrap UNSC and rebuild it with something else.

Another problem is if you make the UN totally democratic, most of the countries in the world run by 3rd world dictators who are either jerks (including many anti-semites) or whose votes would be under the influence of more powerful countries like USA and China. The General Assembly is a joke. We've seen that the WHO has been corrupted by the CCP, other institutions are probably corrupted by the US or whomever.

They need to take away the veto in the UNSC without a doubt. Throughout the Cold War all the US and USSR did was keep veto'ing each other constantly.
