In Russia they would simply have no reason to protest, for energy is cheap there.

They have economic woes but thats because of the sanctions. No point protesting against those. The west hates Russia. Even before the ukrainian war they had already sanctioned Russia a lot.

The only escape would be moving to other countries. But which country is even safe from the USA, anyway ? Turns out, even Germany isnt safe anymore.
