That China would be suddenly renaming cities that already have centuries old Chinese names with arbitrary new names that are literally unpronouncable in Chinese, @noemon.

Hell, let's say that China did publish a map using the Chinese names for these islands and cities. If Greece published a map that labelled 'France' as 'Γαλλία' is that evidence of Greek imperial ambitions on France?

So I'd be interested to know how you see things going in the carve up of the rest of Russia controlled territory. Do you think Rostov for example is an intrinsic part of Russia or Muscovy as you call it? When Ukraine regains control of Mariupol and Crimea do you think they should be content to share the Azov sea?

Rostov has strong local identity , it´d DO FINE WITH MOSCOW´S DESPOTISM , Muscovy ´d return back to its 15c Borders , Much like Portugal, England , France did

wiki :

after losing the Opium Wars, Qing China was forced to sign a series of treaties that gave away territories and ports to various Western powers as well as to Russia and Japan; these were collectively known as the Unequal Treaties. Starting with the Treaty of Aigun in 1858 and the Treaty of Peking in 1860, the Sino–Russian border was realigned in Russia's favour along the Amur and Ussuri rivers. As a result,China lost the region now known as Outer Manchuria (an area of more than 1 million km2) and access to the Sea of Japan.
