Whether or not the United States decides to intervene militarily depends on more than simply altruistic humanitarian concerns. American interventionism is determined more so by material interests . If I were to advise the resistance in Venezuela , as if they would even care about what I think , I would advise them to implement the tactics of color revolution , influenced by the work of the late Gene Sharp , not only because I am a pacificist , but because I feel that it could be most effective , given the military situation .
