Everyone is pretty stupid and insane these days. I say we allow it.

The distinction was made because indentured servants had more protections than slaves. For example, they could not be forced to bear children that would then be indentured, too.

Parental rights are rights of parents, and come with responsibilities because that is how societies stay healthy. While people can renounce both by giving their children up for adoption, they go together, and separating them through a sale would be atrocious.
