Well I remember he was a trifle premature in his annoucnment of the capture of Marinka, time will tell if he's become a bit more cautious in his sabbatical. Now I don't know but surely dealing with the Kurds must be Turkey's number 1 priority in Syria. I wouldn't have thought they'd particularly want a Russian naval base in Syria. I can see that al-Jawlani might favour the idea, if he doesn't want to be Turkey's puppet. He hasn't got any other governments as friends, so having leverage with Russia a nuclear power might prove useful.
