My questions are foremost related to politics (but can apply elsewhere).

When reason, logic, rational, facts and science are not able to convince someone of the truth:
What will?

When they refuse to listen (just hearing the opposite side).

Or is it simply that they know/understand that 2+2=4 is correct, but they will stand on the 2+2=5 (for unknown reason) side as long as it doesn’t hurt them personally?
That they don’t care what is right and wrong? As long as the number five provides a positive feeling (justified, amusement, belonging, etc..) and/or positive outcome (increase of wealth, network) for them.

Doesn’t that say they are not taking responsibility (for the truth & justice)?
If they don’t take responsibility, are they not then indirectly giving up their right to vote/have a voice?
What tools and methods do we have in our disposal, for people that are blinded by their conviction (be it personal, money, religion or party)?
How can one convert them to do the right thing?

Examples of what is happening in US politics:

Where Trump supporters don’ care about Trumps lies or don’t believe he lied: Even if there is video or written (real white house-source- transcripts) proof.
Sharpie (-gate?):
Where Trump tried to defend (by lies, etc.…) marking the potential impact of a hurricane with a sharpie pen. And his supporters trying to defend it…

Ukraine-gate
Trump admitting quid pro quo

And obstructing justice

(They are locked in on Hunter/Joe being the criminals/suspects ought to be investigated…
The issue is not the corruption: It’s the timing (why not 2017/2018 before Biden announced he was running, also why sending his private lawyer) and whom benefits: Trump and Russia.

Mick Mulvaney confessing on multiple possible conducts (Ukraine included):

Mitch McConnell siding with Trump on impeachment (when he’s supposed to be impartial):

Does the human being reason? No; he thinks, muses, reflects, but doesn’t reason. He does not compare the party himself, and is not capable of doing it. He doesn’t want to know the other side. He wants arguments and statistics for his own side, and nothing more. – Mark Twain’s notebook, Chapter XXVII
