This falls a little bit under the category of conspiracy theory.

On July 21, it was announced that President Joe Biden would be dropping out of his campaign and no longer seeking reelection.
But there was no media press conference where Biden appeared. Rather the announcement consisted of a post on Biden's official Twitter account (now named "X").

On July 17, it had been announced that Biden had tested positive for Covid.
Biden arrived at Harry Reid International Airport in Nevada in the afternoon, following the announcement of his diagnosis. Reporters questioned him about his condition as he walked to Air Force One. "I feel good," he told the reporters.
It's notable to point out that Biden was not wearing any mask at this time.

"He will be returning to Delaware where he will self-isolate and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time," White House press Secretary Jean-Pierre told reporters.

He was last seen publicly walking off a plane in Delaware that same day, July 17.

Does anyone think Joe "catching Covid" was just a coincidence or unexpected?

Just a coincidence that he decides to drop his presidential campaign and hand over the reigns of power, just a few days after disappearing from the public spotlight and being unable to meet with anyone?

Either that, or perhaps they decided to exert pressure on Joe during a vulnerable time, when he was isolated and unable to have contact with anyone outside of a very small closed circle.

Maybe even give him some medication to make sure he is out of it and can't stay on top of what is going on. Opiates are often given to troublesome elderly patients in hospice homes to keep them complacent and prevent them from complaining. They could drug him up and then ascribe his altered mental state to Covid, so that no one else would suspect anything was going on.

When Kamala Harris announced her campaign that she would be replacing Biden in front of the press, at one point she said: "Joe, are you watching, do you hear this clapping? Can you see it?"
The audience can then hear Joe's voice from the speakers: "I'm watching, I'm watching."

So presumably Biden was listening and seeing the announcement remotely through a webcam.

But is it possible this could have just been a ruse? Maybe Biden's voice was just prerecorded and played to create the impression that he knew what was happening?

Kamala Harris does have a fake overly bubbly smile while she is talking, like she secretly felt a little nervous and uneasiness about what she was saying, which makes me think that either she knew Biden really was not the happiest about what was happening and there was some friction and tension in that situation, or perhaps that she knew Biden was not actually really talking to her.


There has been a lot of pressure for Biden to drop out of the race.

There could easily have been political bribes of money, especially campaign spending donations. That would not be the least bit surprising or unexpected.

To help convince Biden to drop out. Or to help convince Biden's wife to convince Biden to drop out. Or perhaps even to motivate a key group of White House people to help facilitate Biden's removal.

An update, Biden has made his first public appearance since the ostensible announcement about dropping out of the presidential race.

He is seen stepping out of a vehicle and boarding Airforce One in Delaware. He is holding a face mask but not wearing it.
One reporter asks him "How are you feeling?", to which he replies in almost a whisper that can only be made out by watching his lips move, "Well".
A group of reporters try asking questions but he ignores them and does not answer. It seems maybe he was having trouble talking, which could be due to the Covid and his age.

He's asked "How are you feeling about Harris's campaign?", "Can Harris beat Trump?", but he had already turned to walk towards and up the stairs, and it's not clear if he heard or understood what the reporters were asking him.

At the very least, it does seem like he didn't want to talk about it.
