I came across this video, yet another idiotic attack on Great Britain. Great Britain was right or at least partly right. The rest of the world was clearly in the wrong.

There were 12 pennies in a pound as there were 12 inches in a foot. This was clearly the right way to go. What needed to be changed as a priority was converting our number system to base 12. Counting to 12 using the hands is no problem if the heel of the hand is used for 1, Covering the heel with the fingers indicate 0. Closing the fingers, but leaving the heel open indicates 1. In the pre modern period the mixing of bases in measurement systems was an excellent idea, that gave ordinary people well needed mental exercise, it no doubt contributed to Britain creating the greatest empire the world had ever seen. However the modern world didn't need that extra mental exercise so should have moved over to a consistent base 12 systems.
