The total body count for the ninety years between 1917 and 2007 is approximately 148 million dead at the hands of fifty-two atheists, three times more than all the human beings killed by war, civil war, and individual crime in the entire twentieth century combined. – The Irrational Atheist, by Vox Day, page 240

“When I began my career as a cosmologist… I was a convinced atheist. I never imagined that I would be writing a book purporting to show that the central claims of Judeo-Christian theology are in fact true …. straightforward deductions of the laws of physics… I have been forced into these conclusions by the inexorable logic of my own special branch of physics.” – Frank Tipler, professor of mathematical physics

"Nothing will prevent me from eradicating totally, root and branch, all Christianity in Germany." - Adolf Hitler, April 7, 1933

"Christianity is an invention of sick brains. ... The best thing is to let Christianity die a natural death. ... We commence hostilities against the so-called Ten Commandments; the tablets from Sinai are no longer in force." --Adolf Hitler

“If you believe in evolution and naturalism then you have a reason not to think your faculties are reliable.” - Alvin Plantinga

None of those things you quoted, are from Hitler. Your source( a blog of all things  ) is absolute shit, and extremely biased.

My feeling as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded only by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God's truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders. How terrific was his fight against the Jewish poison. Today, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before the fact that it was for this that He had to shed his blood upon the Cross. As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice. And as a man I have the duty to see to it that human society does not suffer the same catastrophic collapse as did the civilization of the ancient world some two thousand years ago—a civilization which was driven to its ruin through this same Jewish people. - Adolf Hitler. 1922

If positive Christianity means love of one's neighbour, i.e. the tending of the sick, the clothing of the poor, the feeding of the hungry, the giving of drink to those who are thirsty, then it is we who are the more positive Christians. For in these spheres the community of the people of National Socialist Germany has accomplished a prodigious work.

God the Almighty has made our nation. By defending its existence we are defending His work.

Yeah... a real Athiest  , but I guess that just shows you how absolutely incorrect you are.

Humans can be "evil", but religion, or lack therof, does not make one "evil".

My babies are atheists.

They have no idea that the concept of god is even a thing. They have no belief in god, nor any belief in a lack of gods.

I find it hard to believe that they are, well, pure evil.

I always thought that you and Rei Murasame were the most logically consistent of the ones I'm spiritually, morally, and politically opposed to. Dead wrong, but logically consistent. So perhaps i say this to others out there as well, to show what the thorough and well-nigh complete result looks like intellectually speaking.

The Devil's Delusion, by David Berlinski
(From the cover)

Has anyone provided a proof of God's inexistence?
Not even close.
Has quantum cosmology explained the emergence of the universe or why it is here?
Not even close.
Have the sciences explained why our universe seems to be fine-tuned to allow for the existence of life?
Not even close.
Are physicists and biologists willing to believe in anything so long as it is not religious thought?
Close enough.
Has rationalism in moral thought provided us with an understanding of what is good, what is right, and what is moral?
Not close enough.
Has secularism in the terrible twentieth century been a force for good?
Not even close to being close.
Is there a narrow and oppressive orthodoxy of thought and opinion within the sciences?
Close enough.
Does anything in the sciences or in their philosophy justify the claim that religious belief is irrational?
Not even in the ballpark.
Is scientific atheism a frivolous exercise in intellectual contempt?
Dead on.

Has anyone ever provided a proof of the Great Green Arkleseisure's inexistence? Not even close.

To deny that the world existed last Tuesday is as logically inconsistent as to claim it did. Neither side has proof. Amnesia is the only logically consistent position.

Meanwhile, back on the thread title, no-one has shown that "atheism is evil". What I can see is a lot of people scrambling to justify their assumptions and prejudices. Discussions about gods are pointless. As ideas go, gods are just wishful thinking. Not worth the time of day, really. Why not discuss if there's a perfect ice cream flavour? That's relevant to human happiness, after all.

Whilst I think pretty much anything should be discussed/debated, I also agree that:

If it were just me and my natural resources, or all those like me, I'd perhaps agree, in natural perception it has been a long defeat although many Saints have now experienced Theosis and have been caught up into the Divine Life of the Holy Trinity.

Plus I know that My Redeemer lives, in my flesh I shall see my God, and He shall break the teeth of the Wicked on the Day of His Anger. And all will bow down and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord....

Great post!

Humans behave according to evolutionary forces. And evolution dictates that sometimes MAN has to be evil.
Atheism is relatively new in world history and is supposed to be neither evil or good. However, the appearance of atheism in the 20th century was associated with pragmatism and over a 100 million died in the name of socialist atheists.

New atheists can be as radical as fundamental evangelicals. And they love to preach the word of atheism to others. We all know atheism is not a religion so I wish those folks did not act in such a religious manner.

That's an absolutely false statement, as I've already given evidence of, in this thread. Atheists have always existed, only they were executed before the 20th century, so they kept it to themselves, because... you know, religious tolerance.

This is something religious people like to say because it makes them feel good, and as if they are defending their religion from another. Religion has a different meaning than the one you assign to atheists.

If an atheist says something that makes you question your faith, then GOOD. It means you're starting to think!

The commies weren't really atheists. They actually were satanists wearing atheism as a disguise. There was nothing "pragmatic" about the mass human sacrifices they carried out. It was an offering to their unholy master.
