Empowerment through education. But we care more about if people say "happy holidays" rather than "Happy Christmas"
Racism does not exist :knife: .
Maybe this is merely observational bias but I have noticed that in the area were I live (which is predominantly white Hispanics) most cops are black or at the very least a significant part and disproportionate to the population's makeup. But in the areas where these kind of riot occur, the opposite is true (the population makeup is black while police force is mostly white). We are playing police mix and match.

The video is excellent indeed, it is very comprehensive and very well-made. Maybe some people need to watch the whole of it before commenting on it.

Suntzu wrote:Don't know 'bout Baltimore, but a carrying a switchblade in Texas is the same as carrying pistol, it will get you a year in jail.

So brutalizing him/killing him is justified, that's your official point?

Off course he did. wink wink ;) ;)

Translation? If he was Black, he was innocent no matter what the evidence says. :knife:

Because the people with actual video evidence are the ones having trouble accepting the evidence when it comes to police brutality... :knife: (sarcasm)

How many of the cops found innocent do you think were really guilty? I bet you believe all of them were.
That is the problem. Everyone makes decisions about individual actions based upon their current political beliefs. No one is interested in whose life is destroyed because of this, they only want to preserve their precious pre conceptions. We have courts. Refusing to accept their findings is a road to anarchy. We need to go back to letting a court decide before the public decides based upon biased media reports. You know you can't trust the media, but you do it anyway when it fits your agenda. Wake up people.

Actually no. I believe some of them are.
Even if not all but some are that is sufficient evidence that brutality and racism exist.
There is absolutely no justification someone gets shot 14 time in the back or that a kid gets shot. If the guy is on the floor and un-armed you do not need to shoot. If the guy is running away from you, you do not need to shoot. Stop eating donuts and run faster and maybe they won't get away, but shooting a fleeing guy is simply just wrong and unwarranted force (some possible leeway if you actually witnessed the guy murder someone else and he is fleeing after or something weird like that, but the vast majority it is someone fleeing without evidence of a violent crime).
Everyone makes decisions about individual actions based upon their current political beliefs.

This has nothing to do with political beliefs. What is your justification for shooting a child or a teenager that is unarmed? Or a mentally ill person that is a little bit agitated (but unarmed) or a fleeing delinquent that just stole $200 bucks from a cash register? None.
We need to go back to letting a court decide before the public decides based upon biased media reports.

Yeah because our judicial system is infallible :knife: .

Good try but no.

Obviously you have never been confronted with these choices or you would never ask these questions.
Why do you think our legal system should be infallible? That is as unrealistic as believing teenagers and mentally ill do not present a lethal threat.

The bottom line is, if a police officer deliberately shoots a person because of their race, then he has serious problems that can not be corrected by any type of protest. The very few times when this was even a possibility were turned into "institutionalized racism" instead of realizing only a 'nut case' would do this.

It's interesting, but I wouldn't call it 'great'. It adds one side to a problem, but how accurate is it really? Are we really supposed to believe that given the demographic rise of African Americans (64%) in Baltimore, that they would still be clustered in the same bad areas? And that predatory lending is exclusively tailored to African Americans? Or that self-segregation isn't a thing.

Also, redlining was not only used to cut financial risks, but also to depopulate areas with high density populations. Probably to deal with overcrowding of inner-city urban areas.

And why didn't it focus on those two black cops. What their motives were?
